As we venture into Easter, there's more to do than just chow down on chocolate shaped like eggs and rabbits. That is the primary objective for many, but the gaming backlog never takes a break, especially not on a long weekend. Here's what we're getting up to!
Aaron Bayne
I was planning to sink some time into Destiny 2, this weekend, but the new update for Lords of the Fallen has me starting a new save file and playing it all through with a mate.
Jamie O'Neill
I'm planning to both pilot a mech in PS1's Armored Core, and I'll also try to decide if I'm more robot than man in RoboCop: Rogue City, but I guess Dick Jones has the answer already. He's a cyborg, you idiot!
Robert Ramsey
With Oblivion Remastered just days away from release (supposedly!), I'm now in a mad rush to finish off a few things before it demolishes my free time. That means completing side quests in Assassin's Creed Shadows, concluding the grind in Monster Hunter Wilds (for now), and ending a very fun playthrough of RoboCop: Rogue City. It's set to be a busy weekend.
Simon Fitzgerald
"Day 49 in the Big Br-- inherited mansion, and Simon is still drafting rooms and solving puzzles.” Blue Prince is all I'll be playing this long weekend and there's certainly enough content to keep me busy. I've been scrawling puzzle notes in a journal like a mad man; the wife has even had to stop me scribbling over our lounge walls. There's a new clue or a solution here somewhere, I swear!
Stephen Tailby
One thing I really want to play is the demo for Unbeatable, a game I've been really looking forward to for a while now. The main thing, though, is Forza Horizon 5 — expect a review in due course.
That's all from us, but what about you lot? As always, sound off about your weekend gaming plans in the comments section below — and happy Easter to all who celebrate.

I've decided to start another run of Bloodborne this weekend. I need something to tide me over until the 24th when Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 releases.
Maybe a bit of Monster Hunter Wilds as well and I plan on checking out the Unbeatable demo too.
Triangle Strategy: It's a lot of fun planning out just the way to take down enemies, with some being better suited buffing allies and some just charging through. There are also great side stories and recruitable allies and a decent quick leveler in camps. The story is simple and straightforward, but the characters (in particular Frederica) are well-rounded and entertaining.
Made a start on my invisible enemies playthrough of Resident Evil HD this morning. It’s the fifth and what should be my final run… and it’s been quite the journey. I’m sure that it comes as no surprise to anyone that I think it’s great and really looking forward to playing the subsequent entries over the next few years.
No rest for the wicked though as although this platinum has been a challenge for sure, the next one on the docket (which I’ll be starting Tuesday) is gonna be an absolute **** 🤬… and may well prove to be beyond me.
I will be continuing my playthrough of the Devil may cry HD trilogy. Currently half way through the first game. Probarbly a bit of Overcooked with the wife later too but we usually end up arguing when we play it 😂. May try to squeeze in a bit of switch time too.
Where is the guy who always posts first and attaches pictures of the games he'll play?
AC Shadows - I had a lot of gaming time this past week, so focusing on the main story I managed to both finish and platinum the game. Loved it, its my favorite AC since Black Flag. Dont really feel finished with the game though, even if its massive and I've played so many hours I just enjoy the world and the gameplay so much I might have to do some more side missions and castles. Brilliant game imo 🙂
Next up is South of Midnight and some smaller games on VR perhaps 🙂
@Czar_Khastik first think i thought when i loaded u the post. Hes late to the party 😂
I’ll be forgetting that I now have a horse so I don’t need to walk everywhere in kingdom come deliverance 2 and I’ll be playing tomb raiders 2 & underworld
@Czar_Khastik you mean the guy who must be the guy he posts this each week as it's always a long post with pictures within seconds of the thread being posted?
Yeah was wondering that too 🤣
Greetings fellow video game enthusiasts. I’m nearing the end of Kingdom Hearts 3. After that I’ll start Atelier Yumia. I might dust off the ol’ Vita as well. Have a good one, folks.
Mixing between the last of us part 1 (hooked yet again) lost records tape 2 and Nikoderiko.
But at the moment I'm not allowed on the PS5 as my 7 year old is on Astro Bot again lol
I'll be continuing to play Trails in the Sky Second Chapter this weekend. Didn't get a lot of gaming time this last week, so got some catching up to do. I'm playing on hard, and was stuck on the prologue for ages - I'd not heard that the prologue is horrendously tough on higher difficulties, and the final boss of the prologue is basically like the equivalent of Emerald Weapon in FFVII or something! I ended up going to the internet for guidance as I just couldn't see how it could be beaten, and was all set to lower the difficulty, when I decided to have one last go on hard and somehow managed to beat it by the skin of my teeth.
Now that I'm onto the game proper, things have opened up a lot and I'm having a great time - it's so good to be back in the company of these characters again.
Have a great weekend, fellow gamers.
@rusty82 @Kidfunkadelic83 That exact guy. Each Saturday I wonder how he does that? Does he use a bot to post or is he refreshing the site manually?
Well this proves it must be manually since he didn't post today because I assume he is on Easter holidays away from the computer.
But one day I will make first comment, it is possible! Mark my words!
Oh, and I'm playing Kena: Bridge of spirits. It's such a great visual and audio experience of a game but the bosses are tough. Not souls tough but the parry mechanic must be executed so precise and I can't do it most of the time. But nevertheless, it's an amazing game. Even more so for an indie title.
I need to start AC shadows really but I cannot stop playing Blue Prince. It's becoming a serious problem.
Hello there fellow gamers.
This weekend I´ll probably do the following.
And some Strret Fighter 6 online, because why not 😜
Cheers and happy gaming Easter weekend to everyone
This weekend I’m continuing my journey in The First Berserker: Khazan. I’m on the second to last boss fight, and damn has it been rough getting to this point. There have been times where I’ve spent hours upon hours with a single boss, but it is so rewarding once you achieve victory.
Funnily enough, my wife — not a gamer whatsoever — makes fun of me (in good spirit) because every time she comes out of the office (she works from home), she always seems to appear when I die and the screen says “Khazan Has Fallen”. She has asked me numerous of times if I’ve even left that screen 😬
Meanwhile, I’m on the final chapter of Xenoblade Chronicles X. My goal is to mop up the final remaining side quests and affinity missions. I’m genuinely in love with this game, and am always continuing to be impressed by its scope and depth, particularly in exploration and combat. This entry has become tied with XC1 as my favorite in the franchise.
As for what’s next on the docket — Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is my main focus. I originally played it on Game Pass and was immediately enthralled. I decided to double dip and pick up the deluxe version on PS5. I’m hoping to get the platinum sense the Xbox version had buggy achievements. We will see if the PS5 version has the kinks all ironed out.
AC Shadows, 70hrs in still no end in sight, my backlog is jealous.
I’ve put AC:Shadows down for the time being, the story has stagnated and I needed a break. I’ve instead re picked up Persona 5 Royal which I’m blasting through whilst catching up on Dimension 20 - so my weekend is sorted 😂🥰.
I will continued playing one of the best video games ever made in the instant classic the amazing kingdom hearts 1.i will also continued playing fan favorite the incredible destiny the collection. I will also continued playing the wonderful onimusha warlords.i will also continued be playing one of the best games I ever play in the phenomenal desperado 3 with all the dlcs.i will also continued be playing the tremendous mafia definitive edition. The Jeffersons. Sanford and son.different strokes. And saved by the bell.word up son
Playing Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time on my 3DS.
Not much else this easter weekend. Might start Wario Land 4 or Densetsu No Stafy 2 after on my Switch.
@Czar_Khastik "Oh, and I'm playing Kena: Bridge of spirits"
Great game and as you say, can be a tough cookie in places.
Droplitz Delight (Windows Phone) - I'm only focusing on this for now. I'm almost at the end of the road though, then I can delete it and move onto the next game.
Very little this weekend as out n about all Easter weekend then cooking a leg of lamb Sunday so might just be Vampire Survivors on the switch in between eating and watching football 👍
Enjoy your gaming weekend people!
I'm taking a break from FF7 Remake to try out a few different games in Avowed, South of Midnight and Space Marine 2 and see what sticks. They're all pretty solid games. Enjoy the long weekend
@Czar_Khastik I loved Kena, had or pre-ordered as it just struck a chord with me
Alternating between Baldur's Gate 3 and Dragon Quest 8. Two fantastic turn based RPGs for their times.
Starting No Man's Sky and Psychonauts 2 this weekend
Still playing AC Shadows I'm about 50 hours in and nowhere near finishing the story probably my favourite AC since Origins.
MH wilds. And im starting to feeling bored till the next Arch Tempered Rey Dau update drop.
Just bought Sam & Max bundle on Steam sale yesterday. Can’t wait to play later.
@Czar_Khastik not only on this site. He also the first guy that post in this weekly, what you playing article on NintendoLife
Such a dedication to be the first guy that post a comment for every single week 😅😅
Still, Baldur's Gate 3. Game is just soooo good! Not seen such memorable cast since RDR2.
@Burnish1619 psychonauts 2 is a piece of art. I love it so much. Hope you are enjoying it
On duty this weekend so in between nappy changes and feeds (and football on the radio) I’ll try to get the utterly brilliant Ragnarok dlc Valhalla finished. So I can finally start either AC Shadows or Astro Bot next…decisions decisions 😆. Happy camping folks ❤️
Going back to the seal grind in Ishin. Been a couple of years. By far the worst trophy campaign of all the (usually excellent) Yakuza examples. Their remade systems really screwed things up. Still, I won’t let this be the only one I haven’t finished, and still got some fun things to do too.
@Czar_Khastik that guy is out of town for Easter so no gaming for him
I post first because I know the time. That is all if they change it I will not be the first.
Working until 2 today, then I have two days of gaming! At the moment I'm juggling Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Assassin's Creed Shadows and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
@Kidfunkadelic83 @rusty82 @Czar_Khastik Oh yeah! hope all is well
Black ops 6 campaign.
I'll have a few runs on Blue Prince and see if I can make any progress but I'm now entirely sure how to tell if I am or not?!
Have decided to shelve Doom Eternal for then time being as I wasn't really feeling it and playing it seemed too much of a chore.
So, for some reason, decided to go back to Fallout 4 (PS5) around 8 years after I gave up on it on PS4... Never bothered to finish it but really desiring some open world apocalyptic exploration and to hell with protecting survivors and building bases this time around.
Have a great weekend and fun game time people and try not to overdo the choccies... Or overindulge if you want. It's your life after all.
I got the plat for Dragon's Dogma II during the week, so I'm back to FF VII Rebirth now. That's pretty much all I'm playing for the next few weeks.
@PlatinumMikey Don't forget Assassin's Creed Mirage! It's a more concise but worthwhile experience!! And the plat is not very hard to get
I won't have much playtime this weekend, as I will travel today. But before that, I will do a little exploring in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 before I hit the road. When I return, Yakuza 5 and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII awaits!!
Jedi Survivor today. Tomorrow football tournament of my youngest son.
Have a great weekend!
@rusty82 @Kidfunkadelic83 @Czar_Khastik I quite like his posts especially when he has a new sculpture as those are really, really good..I'll be very predictable this weekend and be hitting dirt 2.0 and EA wrc with a bit of the first berzerker thrown into the mix. Waiting for my new profile cockpit to be delivered (should be sometime soon) then my sim racing rig is almost complete..have a good weekend folks 👍
@freddquadros @Shepherd_Tallon damn bro Rebirth what a game! I urge anyone to follow suit. Yes we had Mirage on release as the Mrs is a huge AC fan maybe I should look into that one first then. I’ll check out the guide to see what’s what. Is AC shadows as big as they say then? I’m reading a lot of comments on how it’s never ending lol
@Zuljaras enjoy your break buddy 👍
@Zuljaras ha in the time it took to tag the people who mentioned you you posted! Have a good one pal 👍
I'm pretty much grinding on Street Fighter 6 since i'll have an online tournament on sunday. I skipped a lot of tourney offline and online for more than a year but this time i decided to participate again.
Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻
Nothing much for the next 2 weeks as the snooker has started, so mostly watching that. Depending on time games finish will do a little bit of stardew valley, but other than that its snooker for me 😁
I’m about halfway through South of Midnight, while the combat could be better, I’m adoring the world and story. I’ll keep continuing on with that journey.
I’ve also been playing Minecraft a good amount. I couldn’t stand it for the longest time, I saw why people loved it, but it wasn’t for me. Unfortunately, my son fell in love with it and constantly asked me to play, but I’d only play every now and then. I went to play South of Midnight the other day and it had a huge update so I had to wait, I decided to give Minecraft one last try on Survival and I loved it. It finally clicked and I saw why everyone enjoyed it so much.
Blue Prince has me enraptured but I still am wrapping up Atomfall endings and still grinding away bosses in First Beserker of Khazan. I’d like to finish two of the three before Expedition 33 this week but I doubt that will happen! Too many games!
Khazan The First Berserker is brutal spent hours on bosses. This game is the definition of Git Good
PS4 - Bloodborne
PSP - Rock Band Unplugged
Finally playing The Last of Us for the 1st time. Idk why it took me so long but it's been pretty good so far. One of my favorite implementations of stealth gameplay. Never too slow but you also don't breeze past clickers, making it all pointless. The story's been a little cliche but the character interactions have been great
And more Xenoblade X. Took me a while but got to ch.9, what a chapter 8 was. I'm really liking the story beats but getting to the actual story means going thru a bunch of side quests, affinity missions, and fighting a bunch of mobs to level up. It can be pretty exhausting at times. But when it clicks, it clicks. I'm still enjoying it and can't wait to get further into the story
Tails of Iron

Pretty good 2D Soulslike featuring a bunch of violent anthro rats and frogs doing terrible things to one another.
God of War: Ragnarok brilliant game with fun combat and gorgeous world. A story that is very weird, but very inventive. Fun to experience an American take on Scandinavian.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Elder Scrolls Online, and trying out Lods of the Fallen coop with my son. Hope we love it. It’s been a while since we played something together.
AC Shadows Finally unlocked Yasuke after getting distracted by map markers for over 30 hours and it’s so good walking straight into an enemy location and wading through combat like an absolute monster. It’s basically For Honor but open world, and a nice contrast to sneaky sneaky Naoe.
@Northern_munkey @freddquadros @shepherd_tallon @rusty82 @kidfunkadelic83 @Czar_khastik funny to see us all wondering the same thing, but also love seeing what you all and the rest of the posts here are playing every weekend! Always the highlight of my Saturday morning. Cheers all!
Decided yesterday that it would be a good idea to just go ahead and order my copy of Expedition 33 since it's out next week - estimated arrival date of May 19th? Holy smokes. I'll hunt for a copy in town in the meantime.
I decided to start Metaphor Refantazio. It's... fine. It's okay. I'll give it some more time. I also finally ordered Romancing Saga 2 - I adored the demo for that one. If Metaphor hasn't completely grabbed me by then, I'll switch to that.
Beyond all of that, I'm putting together an inexpensive PC for my mother to use since her last one gave up the ghost. Got a good deal on a used bare bones Optiplex. A few new parts, a few parts I have laying around, and she will have a perfectly serviceable web browser.
The old pool is finally coming down. If weather doesn't stop me, I'm going to finish cleaning out the muck that accumulated on the bottom and tear it completely down. I'm thinking I'd like a patio with a gazebo or something in its place.
Happy Easter everybody, and have a great weekend.
I’m going to try to get some progress in Nioh again. Work and life hasn’t allowed me any time to game this week unfortunately. But I have Sunday afternoon off so here’s hoping. I’m getting an itch to go back and play Batman Arkham Asylum. But I’m a one game at a time person, so when I finish Nioh hopefully the itch is still there.
@ErrantRob cheers bud 👍
Blue Prince. Im 38 hours in and deep, lots of layers. Edit: it says 41 hours on the dash, but its actually only 26 hours if you look at profile stats. I wish they'd fix that 🙄
South of Midnight, chapter 10. Just had a memorable boss fight, but in general, the fighting is not fun. The vision and art direction though is sublime and driving me to completion!
Once I can clear the above, Im looking forward to getting back to AC Shadows, but Ive got Days Gone Remaster, Epedition 33 and Forza 5 on ps as preorders all ready to distract me shortly. Oblivion as well? Its all too much 🤣
Whatever you are playing, I hope you have a great weekend....
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle & Minishoot' Adventures.
My backlog is getting ridiculous and it’s overwhelmed me so all I’m doing is playing ten mins of a game, getting fomo and going back to Balatro.
To counter this, I’ve made myself a list to play through.
First up is Lords of the Fallen which drew me back with the new update as I gave up originally because it was a bit janky.
Easter with family
Trying to load AC Shadows and accidentally clicking on Crusader Kings 3 so I can King the heck out of Bohemia, with Prague, Kuttenberg and the surrounding lands 100 of years ahead of development, even though my latest King is an absolute military beast, rather than a competent steward like all of his predecessors.
Buuuuuut...
Old Genghis Khan is only just over yonder, so I assume it's a big game over waiting to happen 😬
I swear, I only closed my eyes for a minute and he's right there 😂 Please God, and your beautifully well placed mountains, protect us all.
Come to think of it, I can actually form an Allience with the Holy Roman Emperor and perhaps use him as fodder, and wouldn't you know it, I am second in line to the Empire due to voting for myself anyway (👍) hmm, maybe we can do this and come out of it even better off 🤔
I'd also love the chance to duel the Khan, but not sure if it's possible. Because he actually likes and respects me, and isn't a rival.
I've been playing so much Indiana Jones this week I decided to slow it down and tried out the demo for Mandragora. It's a cross between the last Prince of Persia with soulslike elements. I don't particularly care for Metroidvania games but this one has me hooked. Such a great time to be a gamer.
It’s Wrestlemania weekend. WWE 2K25 is the perfect game to play.
Just got platinum #137 - Robocop Rogue City. Fantastic video game and $10 well spent. I was going to wait on Indiana Jones, but I decided to just go for it. Can’t wait to get into it more. Assassin’s Creed is also waiting for me. We’re swimming in great games!
It’s also Wrestlemania weekend! I haven’t missed one since I started watching in 1988 so I’ll definitely be tuning in. Have a great weekend, everyone!
Baldur's Gate 3
I might as well just copy and paste it at this point since I've been playing it for a couple of months now.
I have been blasting through the old GoW games this past week and am currently on GoW 3. I have also downloaded old Lords of the Fallen and picked up new Lords of the Fallen since it was cheap as chips last night.
I might also jump back on Blue Prince at some point as I know there is more to find, but not sure if I really want to go to deep with that game.
DOOM 2016
My comment is not too short, give me a break😂
@Ilyn nice! i love the classic GoWs
Ive put about 20 hours into Blue Prince this week, its a weird game and doesnt seem terribly keen of rewarding you… until it does. There loads of doors i have no idea how to get through, and a couple of keys have popped but ive no idea where theyre used. Ive got a permanent room now too! It just keeps me coming back. Ive slammed loads of Vampire Survivors Adventure today too.
Also played a bit of the fantastic Lords of the Fallen v2.0 which looks superb on the pro, with a flawless frame rate. Dodging seems better now (and thanks to @Northern_munkey for singing its praises last year, that lead to me giving it a try).
My only problem now is what to play next, with Oblivion and the Days Gone upgrade landing next week (hopefully!)
Have a great weekend Folks!
@DrVenture69 thankyou..dare I recommend the first berzerker khazan to you 🤔
@Northern_munkey yes you dare!😄. Ive had a little look already😉. I need a magic hammock to clone myself to play all the games i want to!
@DrVenture69 it's a great game despite the paltry, disingenuous 6/10 it was awarded here..
@Northern_munkey ive heard loads of people talking about it here, ive dropped it on the old wishlist. I think LotF has got its hooks back in me at the moment!😄
@Northern_munkey yeah his sculptures are quality.
I've been mostly playing Hogwart's Legacy. It's really enjoyable with a lot to see and do. The only thing I can't figure out is why the Devs put two doors into tiny shacks, it's a really odd design choice.
Preparing for a few months away, but have Mafia on deck, so am playing 3 through again.
I was sick during a week and not in the mood for my main game which is Ys VIII - Lacrimosa of Dana, but was able to finish chapter 3 at least. Now at the beginning of chapter 4 but feel I need a break nearing 30hrs playtime and to play something else for a while.
So picked up and already finished Planet of Lana which took me only about 5-6hrs but it was great experience (loved Limbo and Inside).
Yesterday started A Plague Tale Innocence which is in my backlog for ages.
Wish you Lovely Easter days off and happy gaming, everyone!
Still fist deep into Night City and loving it!
Got the true ending for First Berserker Khazan earlier, man that was tough. NBA playoffs and Wrestlemania on deck. Enjoy the weekend everyone.
I got the Platinum on Minecraft so I will have a break from that and spend some more time with Veilguard. I think it’s pretty good, and apart from a few mis-steps, doesn’t deserve all the negativity it was getting.
Also started It’s Takes Two with my son, it’s great!
I've begun my journey in MLB The Show 25 to turn the White Sox into championship contenders. Wish me luck.
Was sick last week and have been having a hard time shaking the illness, so I went in to the hospital on Thursday and I’ve been on bedrest since. I found out I had quite a severe case of strep. Had to cancel my family’s Easter plans as we’re all contaminated, unfortunately. On the plus side, I’m by far the most contaminated, so my family is much healthier than I! Hopefully my hearing returns on my right side soon enough. Had strep as a kid on a yearly basis, but it was never like this.
In my illness, I’ve gotten well acquainted with the Blue Price, which is certainly my favorite game so far this year by a significant margin. I don’t know if I’m doing it right, but each run feels like I’m doing… something. It’s a wonderful game.
I went back to play Mass Effect 2 for some reason I'm not really feeling it so I started playing Watch Dogs again I never finished that game but I'm having way more fun with that game than Mass Effect 2
Ghost Wire Tokyo. I wasn't sure about starting a new game as the reviews placed it in the good, but not very good or great, category. It's actually been a lot of fun and one of the better recent PS Plus bonus games.
I'm on vacation but I brought my Portal!!! .....I've been playing Bioshock Infinite.
Playing Rise Of The Ronin and COD BO6 MP when I have time. Happy gaming everyone!
I’ve finished RE4 Remake (I didn’t have a good time with that game (I think it’s overrated)). Never played the original so this was my first time with it. Finished the Separate Ways DLC. Also finished A Quiet Place The Road Ahead (I started this back when it came out), did my daily dose of The First Descendant, and just started God of War Valhalla. Been so long since I’ve played GOW that I don’t remember anything about combos or how to use runes.
Also played a bunch of demos. Karma The Dark World which seems interesting but i can’t do horror like I used to so I’ll watch a playthrough of it on YouTube. Tried Star Wars Outlaws and Stellar Blade. Graphically, Star Wars doesn’t look very good. Since the demo starts you off at who knows what point in the game, I was having a hard time figuring out the controls because it kinda just throws you in. Didn’t enjoy my time with it honestly. I’ll probably get it when it’s like $20 max still. Stellar Blade just also didn’t click with me. But that’s because I’m just bad at combo heavy games like this so another YouTube walkthrough it is.
Playing GOW: Ragnarok is an experience of absolute ectasy in terms of the visuals of that game!
It is BEYOND gorgeous and to think it released in 2022!! I don't think graphics need to improve beyond this, and I am streaming the base PS5 mind you.
Having waited to play Ragnarok and Spiderman 2 seems like the best decision I have made this generation. It counter acts the feelings you might get about a failed generation of nothing but cancellations and remaster-"slob" that many suffer from.
@somnambulance
Gell well mate.
Yeah Blue Prince gets under your skin once your committed. There are lots of unlocks and actions that persist. I was stupid and didnt explore outside for the first 10 hours or so. 🤦♀️
@Odium south of midnight looks like my sort of game. Hopefully it will come to PS5
@somnambulance hope you feel better soon.
I've been having blasts on Blue Prince but getting frustrated with it. The random nature seems to punish more than reward
Was playing Oblivion tonight. Gonna play some Burnout Paradise and/or Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. All on PS3.
I finished Jedi Survivor so now I'll play Prince of Persia as my main. Plus didn't have much to interest me this month, so I've got time for the backlog.
Started Lords of the Fallen with my son. It’s good so far. It’s a budget Elden Ring with the one thing I’ve always wanted Elden Ring to add; full time coop.
@nomither6 They are enjoyable but so have some very questionable elements that I'm glad the series dropped. Mainly the quick time events which where a nightmare when streaming 1 and 2. I had forgot exactly how much of a step up 3 was overall compared to the first two.
@Titntin I never found the battery until after room 46 because the room it oftenappears on was one I though I was done with so kept ignoring.
It's a great game just a shame that the RNG can sometimes feel a bit to punishing
@rusty82 @Titntin Thanks to you both!
The randomness of it is so soothing. I’ll be honest, this year, I’ve had a hard time finding a new game I’ve liked. Despite a release schedule I was excited about, most everything I’ve picked up has fallen flat (though Split Fiction is still in waiting), and I had no expectation for Blue Prince, and now I’ve got a save on my PlayStation and a save on my Xbox and they’re both running a bit differently, which is neat. It feels like a board game too somehow, which is interesting to me.
I’ve lost hearing in my right side over the course of the week and I’m quite tired, so the game’s relative silence and just aimlessness is sort of perfect for me too.
Wrapped up the platinum for AC shadows, by far the weakest story of any AC game in my opinion but the gameplay with Naoe is so good. Started Tails of Iron and having a blast with it. You have to be thoughtful about combat, if you just hack and slash your going to die within 3 or 4 strikes.
@somnambulance speedy recovery mate. Hope hearing returns soon enough.
My house is deafening with the kids sometimes so blue Prince was good to bang on when wanted to play something and didn't have to worry about missing important dialogue
@Ilyn I’m in the minority with QTEs. I love QTEs & am glad Sony kept them in games like Spiderman. I also have the games natively on ps3; id never stream games, i prefer playing them on their hardware, especially without the gratuitous touchpad and gimmicks of new ps controllers, or kind of blurry resolution.
I finished my first ever playthrough of Red Dead Redemption. Fantastic game, I played RDR2 when it first came out. I wonder if they will ever do a 3rd one!
PS5 - Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
Switch - Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition
@EfYI I’ve just 100% trophies on this. The base game is tremendously good! But mate Valhalla is probably the best DLC I’ve ever played (only possible exception is The Old Hunters on BB).. And considering it’s available to all on plus I think anyone yet to play this needs too! You don’t even need to play the base game as no stats carry over or anything. Fantastic game and free add on. 11/10!
Came back from Japan yesterday so tired maybe Blue prince or metaphor potentially a mixture of both.
Playing through as a bard in Baldur’s Gate 3. My good bard has talked his way past several people my evil necromancer killed her way through.
Continuing to enjoy playing Helldivers 2 with randoms. The Gloom infused predator strain makes for a lot of hard, nasty fights.
Also continuing to chip away at the intense VR roguelike mech brawler Underdogs and the relaxed, charming Two Point Museum.
@rusty82 I’m really enjoying it. The story is much darker than I expected, which I love. The traversal is pretty fun. The combat is the weakest part of the game, but I’ve played worse. The fact that it’s a fairly short game is great for me too. If it comes (when it likely comes) to PS5 I definitely recommend it.
@somnambulance Sorry to hear about the strep. You probably don't have to worry about this, but this is just an FYI just in case. If you have any dark, red skin anywhere, get yourself to a hospital ASAP. I had a severe case of strep back in 2017. On the 3rd day, my right leg from the knee down turned a dark red. I had just lost my health insurance, so I avoided going to the doctor. After 2 more days it became completely unbearable, and my wife forced me to go to a hospital. I really didn't want to go, but I did. I flatlined 52 minutes later. Turns out, I had a rare disease called toxic shock syndrome which came from the strep. I spent the next 3 weeks in the hospital. There was sepsis, and they were not sure if I would have to be put on dialysis for my kidneys. Fortunately they recovered. A week after I got home from the hospital, I got a staph infection on my leg which put me out of commission for the next 6 months. I hope you get better soon, just wanted to give you a heads up in case you see something like that. Happy gaming!
South of Midnight on Gamepass. Plays great on GF Now for those who don’t want to wait and hope it comes to PS5.
A month of Gamepass and GF Now is cheaper than buying the game but it’s easily worth full price.
I know GTA is out this year but I can still see this being my GOTY for how memorable it is.
@PlatinumMikey
I can't wait. I keep getting floored by what this game is capable of. Such a great experience. Happy Easter!
@EfYI it really is mate! Are you playing on PRO? As it’s also one of the best looking games I’ve ever played. It’s a gift that keeps on giving in every department. Combat is tight as helheim too. Enjoy! Happy Easter 🐣 😁
I am playing through the PS2 version of San Andreas on my Retroid. I got the Android version, played ten minutes, then went and found the actual game.
I'm still surprised when I'm reminded how much those definitive editions butchered the original games. I still can't believe it, lol.
@EfYI maybe I should try a legitimately great AAA game again. It's been a long time, and I feel nothing when I boot up the PS5 lately.
Started Indiana jones, played twice, got motion sickness twice so am back to FF7 Rebirth which isn’t making me want to puke, wahoo!
@PlatinumMikey
My daughter is three and territorial, so most of my gaming is done on my portal which means 1080p, I am still absolutely enamored. I think it is better than my supposedly 4K TV😂
@LikelySatan
Well, no harm in trying if you have Extra anyways. It is sort of incredible that they offer this game for Extra in the first place. The offers on this game digitally are often more than a month's sub anyways so the value for Extra is absolutely there. If I hadn't declared holy war on my backlog, I'd sub for a year, but I am trying to force myself to actually play my library. With Hogwarts and Ragnarok, my resolve broke😂
@EfYI very similar mate. I played a lot of the base game on the Portal but for Valhalla I played the entirety on the dad pad and it looks glorious doesn’t it. Them pixels tight together it’s just a dream 👌. Love that thing!
@Steeleye50 Wow! I’m glad YOU’RE ok! Holy cow. I don’t think I have anything like that (hopefully). Back to work today, but still exhausted and coughing and I’m on Day 14 of Strep now, I believe. It keeps fluctuating and I’m wondering when and if I’m ever going to return to what felt like healthy.
@EfYI I feel like it's well played putting this on Extra as I may be playing Blue Prince for the rest of my life, I've already put more hours in since 46 than it took me to get there
@somnambulance Get well soon and take it easy at work if you can
@somnambulance Thanks! Hopefully you will shake this off soon, that is some nasty business. Take care and get better!
@Weebleman me and the wife have been playing it nonstop, it's taking over our lives
