The sun is shining, the gaming is good, yeah. Honestly, with all of the non-E3 madness out of the way, we're looking forward to some sunshine and gaming goodness.
Aaron Bayne
I'll be chipping away at Death Stranding 2 this weekend, and that's all I can say about that! I may nip into some matches of Gears of War Reloaded for this weekend's beta too if I have the time.
Jamie O'Neill
Out of the blue, my friend has very kindly treated me to Dredge for free, which has also led to me getting a chuckle out of Stephen's tagline for his Dredge Mini Review, because it's a nice nod to a Qui-Gon Jinn quote.
Liam Croft
I'm playing Death Stranding 2 for review, and that's still all I can say! I also have a Switch 2 to distract me now, though, so Mario Kart World and Tears of the Kingdom may get a look in too.
Sammy Barker
I've got a few things on the docket this weekend, including potentially getting started with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 at last. We'll see how it goes.
Those are the games keeping us busy this weekend, then, but what about you? As always, let us know in the comments section below.

This weekend I am treating myself with Castlevania Symphony of the Night on its original hardware! (FINALLY!) That's right! "What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets!" and all that!
On the side I will be blasting in Serious Sam: The First Encounter and some Diablo-like gaming in Heroes of Ruin!
Have a nice weekend everyone!!!
Doom the dark ages for me.
It's superb.
I wasn't a fan of eternal so was sceptical about this but f**k me it's so good
Ive had the arcade stick out lately so i will just play some street fighter collection and maybe pick up marvel vs capcom. Cant really be bothered with heavy gaming atm.
Leading up to GTA 6 my plan is to check out a bunch of similar games, that is third person open-world games with cities! So Watchdogs Legion is currently on the docket. It’s quite good. I’m surprised how detailed this police state version of London actually is. Happy weekend all!
I’ll be playing jedi survivor on the 5pro and maybe roadcraft also on the 5pro.
I'll be playing some more Stellar Blade today.
After a very busy few weeks I'm hoping to get back and finish Indy.
Finished Still Wakes The Deep , very good with excellent sound design. Just gonna go back and mop up the last few achievements.
More Death Stranding on PS5 - sometimes I love it, sometimes I think it's boring, pretentious twaddle. Been in my backlog for years !
Having a multiplayer fest too with Battlefront 2 and Battlefield V both still amazing online shooters !
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
143 hours into The Blue Prince, I’m playing it for a few hours every evening, and it’s insane the depth of this game. It feels really simple when you first start but just keeps throwing more layers at you.
Almost finished the Days Gone remaster which is one of the best looking games I’ve seen on the PS5. I hope everyone who was effected by the redundancies (I’ve just gone through it) bounces back, they did a bang up job!
Have a great weekend folks!
FIFA Street 1
Around a half way through my Ghost & Clean Hands playthrough on Dishonored, so should finish that off over this weekend. Whenever I’ve played it through before, I’ve always gone quite high chaos, so it’s been a nice change to just get in unseen, non-lethal the target and get out without searching every nook-and-cranny.
Then on to Zombie Army Trilogy, which I’m looking forward to. ZA4 was up there with my favourite games I played in 2023, so I’m hoping I feel similarly about this. Have a good one squarepushers!
Days Gone Remastered, Mario Kart World and Luigi’s Mansion 3 for me. So jealous of Push Square playing Death Stranding 2 though, can’t wait for that game.
I picked up backyard baseball 97, it’s pretty fun. But you can tell it’s a windows 98 game. Also still playing fantasy life and some MLB the show when I need a break.
After waking up with a mini hangover and realising I hadn’t won the Euros, I emptied my online basket which had a pro and a 65’ OLED tv and started playing Balatro (just unlocked the nest egg trophy).
Shall be continuing Days Gone Remastered. Enjoying it all over again. Think I’m very close to finishing the excellent Silent hill 2 remake as well so not a lot different from last weekend.
Enjoy your gaming weekend Pushsquarians! 🍻
Stellar Blade DLC and getting the platinum for Death Stranding just in time for the release of DS2.
Greetings video game enthusiasts. I will be enjoying Another Crab’s Treasure and Metaphor: Refantazio. 2 games that complement each other perfectly.
Just finished Clair Obscur last night, bit disappointed to be locked out of the platinum because of a missable. Overall enjoyed the game, not quite as much as some, but it felt fresh and the gameplay was fun. On to 13 Sentinals now!
I've just received my copy of dirt rally which I bought of ebay ridiculously cheaply so I'm going all out on classic rally and the pikes peak hill climb challenge on my t598..did I tell you guys how good that steering wheel is? Its damn good..have a great weekend everybody 👍
I.ll be Continuing my Platinum Trophy binge of the Tomb Raider Games I've already finished Tomb Raider 2013 And I'm almost done with Rise.
After the trailers for Silent Hill f and RE9, I have a real need to play a survival horror game!! Now just have to decide between Silent Hill 2 remake, Dead space remake or RE 4 or 8. Played both RE games before, so maybe one of the others for a new experience! Have a great weekend everyone
I am finishing my first play through of shin megami tensei V vengeance and will move on to the second ending
Still banging my head against a brick wall in Lies of P but enjoying
I'm hoping to finish up South of Midnight on Xbox and also a couple of hours into Clair Obscur now and enjoying that too
Still Clairrrr Obscurrrrr skrrrrrr. The game is soooo good. Art so good. Music soo good. Gameplay sooo good. Those little gestrals always make me laugh with their weird language. Everything is brilliant. Must play! I'll try to divert a bit of attention to continue the almighty BG3 also.
I beat Soul Calibur II on NSO and put 22 hours into Mario Kart World.
I’m currently playing Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and replaying Yakuza 0.
Good stuff.
I’m back from holiday and with the existential crisis of having to be in work on Monday; I’ve decided to go back to Power wash simulator whilst catching up on some streams I’ve missed.
Finally got around to my platinum for Astro Bot last night so going to clear up all the DLC, I am limping along until Robocop in a couple of weeks.
Happy gaming folks
Roadcraft. Last main objective on deluge.
Then it's time for the sojourn map.
Have a great weekend!
On PS5 i will be continuing with Shin Megami Tensei Vengeance, it's took me this long to finally get into the game (including the original) but it's finally clicked for me and now I'm having a blast.
On the Switch 2 it's more Mario Kart World, Bravely Default HD and Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma.
I will be playing one of the best video games ever made in sega genesis the iconic and my favorite sega genesis franchises ever in the incredible streets of rage 1.axel stone is a incredible protagonist.the gameplay.the graphics. Nearing the end of a second playthrough of First Berserker Khazan - a really good game for fans of Soulslikes. Tried the demo, and then bought the game.
(NB for Pro users, oddly the demo only has 1 graphics mode, but this was fixed for the main game which has a performance mode which clears up any issues the demo has.)
I’ve bought probably five or six new games in sales in the last month but I’m replaying Mass Effect for the umpteenth time.
Platinumed Cyberpunk 2077. Now dived into Resident Evil 4 Remake. It almost felt like a chore, sitting on my backlog for ages, but I’m really enjoying it a lot at the moment!
@Fandabidozi2025 I bought that legendary edition trilogy last year. Tried the first game twice for a little while, but couldn’t get into the old mechanics. I still feel there’s lot to discover though.
If this weather keeps up I will be out in the garden with the Steamdeck playing a mixture of Monster Train 2, Fantasy Life I and Assassins Creed Shadows. Have a great weekend everyone!
I bought some games from PS store sales and two games from PS3 store. So i'm playing:
Man, I miss that era where on rail shooter and shmups bullet hell are popular. It's just sad that nowadays these type of games became very rare...sigh.
Also how sad that Ghosts 'N Goblins Ressurection got negative reviews and not many people talk about it. This game is possibly the best GnG game in the series. The graphic looks really nice with that story book artstyle and gameplay is just challenging af. No wonder Capcom quite hesitant to revive some of their old IP's.
Outside gaming, i'm gonna watch livestream of CEO SF 6 tournament.
Have a great weekend everyone 🍻
I finished Doom - TDA last weekend. It was fun, but its not a perfect game by any means and its not my favorite Doom at all. I hope the next Doom is more like the 2016 one.
I also picked up Still wakes the deep on a sale, but playing it on the ps5 this time. Great game imo!
And, its summer. I want some relaxing games giving that feel good vibe so I got
Forza Horizon 5 - for the ps5 pro. Its not the best racer (not my favorite Horizon game either) but it really fits the critera above 🙂 looks amazing on the Pro.
TES Oblivion - with the patches coming I cant hold off anymore 😅 it might be so buggy it'll make me furious instead of happy and relaxed, but its one of my favourite games and some parts are better than Skyrim imo so hopefully I can get through it without to much bugs and technical trouble 🙂
Been playing Clair Obscure and enjoying it very much. A game everyone who loves RPG's should play, its that good.
I will be continuing with Mindseye, with possibly some Balatro thrown in. GT7 will have to take a backseat, no time for weekly races until Mindseye is done, which might not take long but it's been enjoyable so far.
I’ve spent more time than I care to admit playing a level a day of First Beserker to the point I may quit with 4 bosses left. It’s worn me down.
I’ve begun the wonderful Ender’s Magnolia and the Overture Lies of P DLC. Beyond those two gems I think I may continue back up my Sinking City playthrough or move onto something else until Death Stranding 2 which might be the only other game I stick with since Expedition 33 seems to have left me wanting.
I would toss a coin to decide between Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and MindsEye. I'm unfortunately out of coins.
I'm playing a 14 year old game for the zillionth time and loving it all over again.
Skyrim
Finished Lies of P Overture dlc already which was amazing. It’s nice to have a game in that genre that actually has a story I am invested in. I’ll likely dive into Nobody Wants to Die and the Tomb Raider 1-3 collection. Enjoy the weekend everyone.
Mostly Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom which is delightfully charming and Switch 2 fixes all it's performance issues. It's a more average Zelda game, it has some obvious flaws, but that's a mighty high bar, no shame in that.
If I finish that I will probably play the Wuthering Waves story update. These feel much more manageable since I dropped HSR and ZZZ.
Lastly my Blue Prince obsession has slowed. I've completed almost all the puzzles I can on my own (I have 7 red letters and 5 sanctum keys. But the puzzles are getting more and more obtuse, the discoveries thinner and thinner, but the biggest problem is RNG. I know what I want to do power the pump room to lower the reservoir but I can't because the right rooms won't appear. I'm a bit frustrated with it all right now, which is a shame because it's been an absolutely fantastic game up until now. I think I might have to look up a few things online, i've only done this a couple of times. But I don't want to end the game feeling like this.
Doom The Dark Ages, a brilliant game having a blast with it 👍
Edit - "Fun in the Sun" its absolutely pissin it down here in Scotland 😐
@whitejessegpfc Nobody Wants to Die was wonderful as an experience and I constantly recommend it to those looking to play a walking detective sim. It never frustrates, the atmosphere is the Blade Runner Noir game I’ve always wanted and the run time to finish it and platinum it perfect. Enjoy!
Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo and Mario Kart World most likely.
@themightyant Totally felt the same way about late game Blue Prince. I felt like it might’ve been a sneaky absolute GotY that I never expected coming, but then the game just stops giving you what you need to proceed and it feels more like wasted time than fun, which is a shame because the discovery in that game is better than discovery in 99% of all games. The game is simultaneously so close and so far away from being a 10/10.
Hopefully some Death Stranding and The Division if I get time which has been in scant supply this week.
Have a boss weekend everyone 👍
Switch 2 Luigi's Mansion 3 Xenoblade X and Death Mark 2. Might pick up Raidou Remastered as first Switch 2 game. Series X Clair Obscur Expedition 33 and Doom The Dark Ages. Pro Like A Dragon Pirate and Assassin's Creed Shadows
I'm finally trying to work through my backlog finished Tiny Tina's Wonderlands last night so back to AC Shadows today and hopefully can get it finished before next weekend.
I realised I hadn't actually finished the Nioh 3 demo fully, so I did that last night. I was missing the unlocked mission so blasted through that and killed the boys on my 2nd attempt. An excellent demo everyone should check out imo.
I'll spend the rest of my weekend playing DA: The Veilguard which also is very good. It's honestly a shame it became a lightning rod for the terminally online idiots.
KCD2 for me. For some reason the first didn't click but I gave the second a chance. So glad I did, what a fantastic game. About 45 hours in and just got to the wedding. It turns out I'm quite the murderous thief.
I'm only about one trophy of the platinum in Vampire Survivors, so I will be doing that. Also, advance the story in the Grasslands region of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This style of open world is quite inviting to me, but I'm feeling I must push foward for now, I will return in a later time to mop the activities. The cool and challenging F.I.S.T Forged In Shadow Torch will get some love too.
Safe gaming for all of you!!!
I returned to Minecraft for no particular reason. We all know about the game, so I'll just say that the PS5 version is weirdly clinical.
As far as I could tell, there wasn't an option to customise world options when launching. It sort of just boots you into it. No tutorial to speak of either, and I think they've done away with leaderboards.
I don't know why the game feels so stripped back.
Chipping away at Dragon Age: The Veilguard and, broadly speaking, still enjoying it. I'm finding the gear progression lacking and the dialogue does occasionally grate... but overall - very good so far.
I‘m playing Death Stranding 2, and that’s all I can say about that.
@Channel42 Pretty sure there's only one missable and it's right at the start of the game, so a quick restart should do it?
Switch 2 mostly. Been playing Wind Waker for the past week and loving it. Collecting all the Triforce pieces atm and I'm finding it quite enjoyable. I can see why some people don't like it, but I'm having fun exploring all the islands. Just wish Tingle didn't charge so much to decipher the maps!
Hello there fellow gamers.
This weekend I´ll be finally playing the GOTY contender Clair Obscure Expedition 33 on my Series X.
It´s already installed and ready to go. High expectations for it.
Will continue to play the very cool and quite technical Stelar Blade on my PS5.
There´s something about how satisfying the combat and exploration as well as the lore of the world.
Last, but not least, continue to play around with my brand shiny new Switch 2 and try some more Switch one games and of course, more Breath of the Wild SW2 Edition. Amazing game.
Cheers and happy gaming weekend to us all
I haven’t had much time to play games this week, let alone this weekend. Whatever free time I do have I will be spending it in the world of Cyrodiil in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
I always find Bethesda RPGs interesting because I tend to forget how they are meant to be played, and it’s incredibly easy to become overwhelmed. I never know if I should immediately set out and explore, or start the main quest. And yet, the result is always the same - I wander aimlessly and complete dungeons I’m not a high enough level for, pick locks and break into homes, read random notes and journals that lead me down an interesting quest line, and stealth my way through enemies with my bow and arrow.
Somehow, after discovering towns and stumbling my way through tons of side quests, I always manage to organically start the main narrative, unsure of how I did so. I think this is the brilliance that modern Bethesda games are missing — Fallout 4 (I really enjoyed that game; got the platinum for it) and Starfield particularly. There is a certain magic to the art of discovery that will eventually lead you to where you’re meant to go even if it doesn’t appear that way initially.
With that said, there is one issue I have with the game design, albeit it’s a product of 2006. Exploring caves and dungeons are great, but it can be disheartening when at the end of the area there isn’t an exit — you have to backtrack to leave. This isn’t with every area, mind you, but it’s incredibly noticeable. Thankfully, Skyrim fixed this problem.
Other than that minor quibble, Oblivion is sublime. When it first released in 2006, I did not like the game whatsoever. My best friend was obsessed with it, and watching him play it I thought, ”Man, this looks so cool”, but it was never fun to play for me. I had the same reaction to Fallout 3. It wasn’t until Skyrim that these types of games clicked with me. Fast forward 19-years, and it has become my favorite genre. And when Bethesda does make a good game, you know it, and there is no other feeling like it.
I think I'll start Final Fantasy VII Rebirth this weekend. I may also play a bit of South of Midnight and Astro Bot. It took me 2 weeks or so to recover from Expedition 33!
Fantasy Life i still.... I'm also really keen on starting Sandland and continuing with SpaceMarine 2.
Whatever you are playing, I hope you have fun!
Doom the dark ages and stellar bade funnily enough which is a good game not easy though have a good weekend all
I started To a T (IIRC from the maker of Katamari Damancy). It is a weird, sweet, funny and sometimes sad coming of age game about a kid (13) stuck in a t pose. His loving mother has crafted and/or bought stuff which lets him get through the day with minimal assistance (that comes mostly from his specially trained dog) but he initially doesn’t enjoy school all that much because while the adults are sympathetic and supportive, school often bores him and most kids view him as a weird annoyance (he does walk around with his arms fully extended which tends to make for a lot of collisions) and a few are even bullying him.
Minigames revolve around stuff like brushing your teeth (you have a special sink and a very long toothbrush), eating, picking up dog poo, gym exercises and science experiments. You can sometimes walk around freely (collecting tokens though I’m not sure what they do just yet).
I’ve also played several matches of Helldivers 2. The new law enforcement:/electricity themed warbond and associated loose gear is fun. My highlights thus far are the electric grenade launcher (great for crowd control though because electricity jumps you want to make sure no teammate or civilian is in the vicinity 😅) and the pistol, which has homing bullets (take a bit to lock on and aims for center mass rather than weak points but great for light, fast moving enemies at midrange).
I am also planning to start The Alters today. I am absolute faith in the developer so I have avoided trailers (past the announcement trailer) and reviews but I love the concept so I’m expecting a fun time.
Starting Another Crab's Treasure after finishing the excellent Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
@somnambulance absolutely. The closest game I have played to it, Outer Wilds, limited your expeditions to 22 minutes before the universe big banged back to the beginning. At first I really didn’t like these limits, I like to take my time, and initially I slightly preferred Blue Prince’s way of drip-feeding your exploration. But by the endgame the RNG is really spoiling the experience a bit, and I’d rip your hand off for a 22 minute time limit, at least I’d be able to immediately try again. It’s still a monumentally good game, but just has a few glaring flaws like this. Shame.
I'll be mostly playing The Alters , brilliant game, although I'm finding it quite upsetting for personal reasons , AA games have been superb this year.
Ragnarok Online with my brother and Helldivers 2. Now that Sony lifted the restrictions we might see an influx of players.
Spyro 1 (The PS One original)
I have 3 games going currently: Stella blade, monster train 2, and star renegades. Rotating as I feel, but mainly been playing monster train 2 today.
@Nye1779 can't go wrong with any of them gems. Silent hill 2 blew me away. Wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. Dead space remake was brilliant 2 but silent hill 2 was a cut above
@rusty82 cheers- Silent Hill 2 it is then 👍👍
My birthday weekend. A little bit of WWE 2K25, Stellar Blade, Monster Hunter Wilds, Lunar Remastered Collection(Switch), Street Fighter 6, and Fatal Fury COTW.
@Nye1779 it's a good length too. Took me approx 20hrs but didn't drag and I didn't want it to end either.
This weekend I'm hoping to wrap up (who am I kidding?) Unicorn Overlord. I'm now officially 100hrs in. Will likey also dip back into the Frozen Wilds DLC of HZD Remastered cause I forgot how good that dlc was.
Enjoy your gaming weekend folks!
I need to get this Nioh 3 demo wrapped up before it disappears. I'm finding it tricky, feels much harder than Nioh 2.
I have absolutely NOTHING to play right now so I’ll be spending my free time learning some songs on bass. Next week though, I’ll be grabbing FBC Firebreak for ‘free’ when it hits PS+ Extra on day 1 so I’m looking forward to that. Hope everyone has a great weekend gaming!
Plan on playing more Stellar Blade on pc. I finished the game on ps5 last year and I'm enjoying the revisit on pc with the dlc, and all of the added stuff from the patches over the year.
Wildermyth and South of Midnight. Loving both.
@themightyant I’d still give the game a 9/10 and say it’s maybe my third favorite game so far this year (behind To a T and the surprisingly fantastic Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo), and I’d even go so far as to say that my favorite gaming moments this year have been playing Blue Prince. My wife even loved it too, but we both burned out due to the repetition and just getting frustrated with how arcane it is.
The roguelike nature of the game makes it so that the mystery works really well for like 30-40 hours, but then, after like 30, 40 runs where you may have a stretch of 7 or 8 that go nowhere, you start to wish the game mechanics would start to change into something more basic. I swear, the game actively gives you some of the worst options sometimes. It reminds me of Ubisoft’s Wheel of Fortune AI on easy mode at times. Rolls a $3500 on first spin, first letter guessed… q… Next AI does the same thing, guesses… j… It’s like, why are you not even trying, game?! Lol.
I totally understand the Outer Wilds reference too. I loved that game as well, it the time limit drove me crazy, even though I definitely wish Blue Prince would big bang itself. I feel like, before I put the game on hold (because I don’t know if I’ll come back to it, as it sits in the back of my head like an itch I can’t scratch), I’d have runs that were between 1-2 hours… and still get some of the worst room options towards to end. It’s like, “Do I pick the maid’s chamber, the lavatory, or the furnace? Hmmm…” And then I couldn’t stop, so if only the game would stop me, which ironically I felt the opposite way while playing The Outer Wilds.
Hotline Miami for me.
The Messenger - 100% the base game again, now I'm playing the super fun DLC, which is a really hard challenge to collect everything. After 7 years, this game remains an indie masterpiece. Everything I'm it screams passion and quality
Bloodstained Ritual of the Night - unfortunately this one still doesnt offer a 100% smooth experience on the Switch, so I only use my day one physical copy as a piece of decoration and play it on the PS5 for a decent experience. Albeit not in its title nor in its budget, it's a wonderful Castlevania experience that deserves to be played and replayed
Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo - a really cool metroidvania by a Brazilian studio that oozes charm with a lot of great old school references. It's skill tree and improvements make it a very interesting game, super fun!
Kaze and the Wild Masks - a wonderful tribute to classic platforming with great controls, old school level design and beautiful pixel art. This one adds great challenge in case you want to collect everything it has to offer. It's great fun both for a casual playthrough or to collect all letters and items
Just sold my Series X and got a PS4 with Miles Morales, so I'll be continuing that. Nearing the end, but gotta take some time doing side stuff because my gadgets are woefully inadequate. Outside of webslinging, I'll be playing some Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash (passed out while playing last night), and/or Oblivion on the PS3.
Spider man 2, road craft and maybe start gta 3 coz its on ps plus?! Or just have a bbq and get drunk
Continuing to catch up on the PS4 library.
Had a rough week of games that I bounced off and dropped: Days Gone, Death Stranding, MGS V. These games are all way too corny and cutscene heavy for me. Days Gone is a great premise but just doesn’t feel good to play in combat or traversal and the story presentation is terrible. Death Stranding seems so cool and stylish but the gameplay was unchallenging, tedious and dull. MGS V is a pleasure to control but feels far too arcadey and unrealistic for its theme.
Finished my full season of NHL 07 on PSP.
PS4 - Nioh
PSP - Madden 08
Resident Evil 7
With the recent announcement of Resident Evil 9, I'm going back and playing the last two games I never played. I'm deep into it now, and aside from a couple of very frustrating boss battles (mainly Jack), I'm enjoying it.
Nothing at the moment but ideally the PC-98 version of Gods or Blood Omen on PS1. If I'm bold and rewrite a disk, , Valis II on PC88.
I'm mostly watching stuff this weekend. The US Open. CES SF6. But when I do play it will mostly be the Gears of War beta. So excited to be playing Gears again!
I am actually mostly playing something from the PS Plus library. I liked the value of getting everything Destiny on my sub, so I took my old, weathered Hunter who began during the beta of the first destiny out of early retirement. I cleared the Lightfall campaign and are now playing the Final Shape. That will suffice, I hope, as I don't really want to play too much Destiny. Right now I am most annoyed with the speed of leveling up my light. I am 1964 and they want me to crawl up to 2015!?
I am a few months into Metaphor and really enjoying it, it's fascinating playing a supremely Persona coded game outside of the school setting. I also wish Hulkenberg was a real person in my life because she would make an excellent weird food loving co-conspirator.
@Czar_Khastik
Toss your mobile then (on a bed so it doesn't break of course):
Face up Clair 33,
Face Plant Mindseye...
I’ve been playing some Elden Ring on NG+ and Castlevania Symphony of the Night
@Ilyn
DAV was my 2nd favourite game of last year - it has it's issues (don't most games), but it was enjoyable and the hate was just uninformed, disingenuous hate (probably propagated by people with no interest in gaming). Glad you are enjoying it.
Slowly plodding through DG remaster, great game. Will be outside more often than not though, if the weather holds up.
@somnambulance Definitely at least 9/10. It's a 10 in a lot of ways just let down by a few frustrations at the end. My 2nd favourite games of the year after Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Both are masterpieces in my view. Did you ever play Animal Well? That was another.
After finishing Assassins Creed Shadows in the week I have been trying to find something but nothing interests me so just waiting for Death Stranding 2 now..
It's too hot and humid to get anything done outside today. I started Clair Obscure, and while it's gorgeous, it's in the "git gud" category of games I don't care for. After getting wiped by the same enemy four times in a row (not even a boss, just a normal enemy), I decided to go back to Soul Hackers 2. Either games are getting tougher or I'm getting too old for this.
Father's Day tomorrow. For the 7th year, I'll go to the cemetery first thing to visit my daughter and plant a day lily next to her head stone. After that, I'll get my son up before it's too hot and finish getting the front flower beds in shape.
Stay cool and have a great weekend everybody!
Army of Two: The 40th Day (PSP) - I haven't played in some time and I forgot what a decent twin stick shooter this was.
Gun Bros (Windows Phone) - Keeping in theme with twin stick shooters. I'm also just starting this as well.
@themightyant Animal Well was fantastic. I loved that one last year. I’m tempted to buy it for my Switch even though I played it on PS+. I love when a game feels like a mystery you have to unlock, especially when it feels like something I’ve never played before. There were some Blue Prince style frustrations in how obtuse it was, but I was hooked nonetheless!
I hate to say it, but I didn’t particularly like Clair Obscur as much as most everyone else did.
My top 10 for the year so far:
1. To a T
2. Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo
3. Blue Prince
4. Mario Kart World
5. Split Fiction
6. Welcome Tour
7. Fast Fusion
8. South of Midnight
9. Elden Ring: Nightreign
10. Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Yes, Nintendo Switch Welcome Tour is #6 and I don’t care if people think I’m insane for it! Lol. I’d be shocked if anything from my bottom five makes it to the end of the year, truthfully.
I ponied up for the StellarBlade DLC 5 minutes after it was available, fired my console up and jumped in and then fell asleep. The thing's still on. Since then I've been distracted with Rugby finals, Canadian GP stuff and LeMan. I'm sure I'll get back to it about 23:00 Sunday?
PS5 - Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Capcom Fighting Collection 2
Switch 2 - Mario Kart World, Street Fighter 6, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition
Finally got around to finishing Thank Goodness You're Here this morning. My God what a crazy and hilarious game. I think I was having drug induced flashbacks at the end of it. Now going to get back into Lies of P, was in the middle of a 2nd playthrough when the DLC dropped so trying to get to Chapter 9 to get into it. Very excited for that one.
@somnambulance nice list. I’ll have to give To a T a go. It wasn’t on my radar. I’ve mostly been playing older games so haven’t played 10 new games this year. But not the biggest fan of Mario Kart World. It’s a very well made game, but I don’t like the balance between luck and skill. Far too much depends on luck.
@Rich33 I'm about 20 hours in and have the quests to recruit the last two members of the team. So far I would say it's easily on par with the original Dragon Age. Number two was easily the worst and number 3 whilst good, didn't hook me quite like this one.
@Darude84
It’s so good! I have played it every few years since it came out though. I’m at that age where something 20 years old ain’t that long ago. 😅
@Ilyn
I never played 1 or 2 (No idea why, maybe they just didn't appeal to me at the time).
I enjoyed inquisition, it was good, but Veilguard was much better imo.
I think it does depend a bit on your character type - I did the spellblade - lower section in the mage main class (playing as a Crow), and would do so again if I replay.
@themightyant Either you’ll love To a T or you won’t. No two ways about it. I really need to finish it… I’ve got just two chapters left in it, but… it’s on my Playstation and I just want to play Switch 2 right now instead.
I’ve started, if my counting is right, 18 games this year? Gotta love Gamepass and PS+ for their help, right? I want to say I’ve bought about half of them. I feel like I should actually buy Blue Prince. 😓
I’m actually really happy with Mario Kart World! I like that it’s basically chaos. My wife and I have tied so many circuits at this point and I sort of like that. My son’s almost beaten me, in fact!
4Pro from Plus Extra: GTA3 and Dying Light 2. On disc Handsome Jack.
With GTA3 I am first making a starter file, I just got the 99th hidden package, next up is Paramedic for infinite running. Fun so far, and looks and plays smooth in performance mode. However the brightness in game and my tv needs set to max.
Overall my only issues are the overdone constant gang attacks and fragile vehicle. Both are present in the original on PS2 but a disc with codes can disable gang attacks.
The more I play GTA3 the more I wish it would be an updated Liberty City Stories. Overall I find LCS more fun than GTA3 with its story, relayable side stuff, Tony over Claude, and it has motorcycles. Also a not cheat way to get a helicopter.
Dying Light 2, first play.
Borderlands Pre Sequel. Replay after a few years, this time with Aurelia, a vault hunter I had not previously played. So far half way through normal and I am enjoying her action skill,
Oblivion for me.
Stellar Blade: Nikke dlc and new outfits hunt! The Nikke mini-game is so much fun.
SF6: beating all the annoying Elenas with my gal Mai, though she has been unfairly nerfed.
@IntrepidWombat my thoughts are with you, I can't imagine a loss like that.
I'm in the same mindset with games, I'm 43 and not likely to suddenly change, don't want to grind and train to make slow progress in a game. I want to enjoy a game and then move on to the next when I'm done with it
@Fandabidozi2025 You’re talking about Mass Effect, right? (I also mentioned Resident Evil 4)
Fantasy Life I - The Girl who steals time…It is as fiercely addictive at it is wonderful to play…Now shut it and leave me alone so I can pull the curtains and get back to it kupo
@somnambulance I’m very similar, started 23 and finished around 17 games so far this year, split between backlog, PS+ and Game Pass. For heavy users like us they are a great deal. Enjoy!
Not much gaming this weekend, but I did manage to platinum The Precinct. I had a great time with it, gave me a police experience that wasn’t boring like the simulators. Also loved the semi top down camera angle, reminded of the original GTA games. Highly recommend.
I'll continue playing Last of Us part2 remastered and also started Stellar Blade on PS5.
We have nice weather all weekend so I'm outside with kids and wife enjoying sun a little.
In TV, probably F1 and some darts.
Happy gaming, everyone!
STARDEW VAWWY
Digging into the backlog this weekend. I think ill try to finish Spider Man 1. Ive had it for years, keep dtopping it to play other stuff.
@rusty82 Much appreciated.
Same - I wonder if it's time to start using easy mode.
“ Nothing at the moment but ideally the PC-98 version of Gods or Blood Omen on PS1. If I'm bold and rewrite a disk, , Valis II on PC88.”
I did in fact finish Blood Omen.
@Rich33 The original was quite a bit more strategic in how it played outas it had more of a CRPG feel to the combat. The story was really good tho, with some interesting characters and meaty choices. You picked a background origin and they each had their own intro missions. Then you are thrust into the Grey Wardens and the game starts for real.
Number 2 was pretty bad however. The story is the Mage uprising in Kirkwall but it lacks any real high stakes moments. The game is also a product of its time and really suffers from it. There are only like 8 tilesets in the whole game which become stale very fast. The characters outside of Varric and pretty bland, and the choices are not much better. You can see that they were aiming for the style of 3 but before it was manageable.
I have gone Mourn Watch Mage focussing on Frost and Necromancy taking buffs for Area / Duration / Blast.
@Lowdefal Blood Omen 1 is such a good game. Its often overlooked as the game you don't need to play in TLOK series, but it contains so much lore and background to the series.
I need to do a full series replay at some point but I am waiting to see if they remaster Defiance first.
EDIT: Looks like i preempted myself there
@themightyant i had the pump next to the boiler yesterday for the first time in about 150 hours, the conservatory and wrench can make things easier but its still down to RNG. I went and had a look what was down there thinking this is going to take for ever to open. Went back to the mansion, built the vault, then blind drafted the laundry from the dark room and converted all my coins to keys. Opened everything in one go. I should buy some lottery tickets!😂
@DrVenture69 Nice! I haven't actually played it for a few days but might pick it up again tomorrow.
My main issue is not drafting "the pool", which you need to in order to get the pump room. I often don't get it till about the 7th rank at which point there isn't much chance of getting the others in time. I even increased the likelihood of the pool in the greenhouse / conservatory (whichever the corner one is) but still nothing!
I do like that electrical drafts have a blue highlight around the outside so you can chain these, but still no power to the pump room in over 20 hours. That sucks!
I think I've done everything in the vault, unless there is some hidden thing I don't know. Haven't drafted it in a while since I cleared it out and all the stores.
