Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is an upcoming kart racer starring SEGA's iconic mascot and his cohorts, but when exactly is it coming to PS5 and PS4?
A newly posted age rating in Australia suggests it's not too far away.
The country's age classification authority has listed a PG rating for the colourful kart racer, citing "In-Game Purchases, Mild Gambling Themes, Online Interactivity and Chat" as qualifiers.
Shared on Reddit by TokuWaffle, the rating is likely indicative of the game's launch in the near future.
Age ratings appear shortly before a game's launch; Australia seems to typically post them a few months in advance, depending on the title, which in theory could suggest CrossWorlds is aiming for late Summer.
It also suggests the game is basically ready to roll, and that a release date probably has been locked down. We expect SEGA will announce a date very soon.
Information about the kart racer has been quite scarce in the lead up to its launch, so hopefully we'll learn plenty more in the coming weeks.
The big new idea in CrossWorlds is that you'll be hopping through dimensional portals mid-race to entirely different locations.
Fans are hopeful that SEGA characters and environments from outside the realm of Sonic will form part of the experience, as in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. This has yet to be explicitly confirmed.

Of the few videos I've seen, it needs to be faster, and the weapons need to be toned down. I get this is a kart racer and the chaos is part and parcel of the genre, but this looks like a complete clusterfudge to play.
I’m so stoked for this one. Team Sonic Racing was fun but a bit of a step back from All-Star Racing Transformed (which I still play on Steam Deck). More kart racers, please!
I managed to play the network test along with the kid, it's a fun game and probably one I will be looking to pick up.
That said some of the races were utter madness due to the weapons.
If they tone that down, touch up the speed a little and maybe just over all let the racing show through the chaos, it's will be a solid kart racer
I'm looking forward to this, Sonic Racing Transformed is still amongst my favourite Kart racers, so if this can get to that level of quality we are in for a treat.
As others have and will point out, the network test was a bit too chaotic at times, so it'll be interesting to see how the full release balances this out
Maybe an October release
Something that isn’t another big action adventure - we are crying out for this kind of variety in the gaming landscape tbh
I enjoyed the beta but it needed some work. Hopefully it will able be fixed by release
Fair. While it's not as further pushing of Transformed which is what I WANT to see and know won't happen, and to me is like Rift Apart to Crack in Time, a waste of my time and weak ideas that aren't furthered.
This will be the same with a few tweaks, not dramatic enough I'd like to see, but I don't have as high expectations for it and it's defined enough of what it is I guess.
if it's Transformed nostalgia like even more a waste of time.
Still could go further but it won't. I know it won't.
It will be a fine game though.
Why does no one care about sonic riders ?
