Age Rating Suggests Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Isn't Too Far Down the Road 1

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is an upcoming kart racer starring SEGA's iconic mascot and his cohorts, but when exactly is it coming to PS5 and PS4?

A newly posted age rating in Australia suggests it's not too far away.

The country's age classification authority has listed a PG rating for the colourful kart racer, citing "In-Game Purchases, Mild Gambling Themes, Online Interactivity and Chat" as qualifiers.

Shared on Reddit by TokuWaffle, the rating is likely indicative of the game's launch in the near future.

Age ratings appear shortly before a game's launch; Australia seems to typically post them a few months in advance, depending on the title, which in theory could suggest CrossWorlds is aiming for late Summer.

It also suggests the game is basically ready to roll, and that a release date probably has been locked down. We expect SEGA will announce a date very soon.

Information about the kart racer has been quite scarce in the lead up to its launch, so hopefully we'll learn plenty more in the coming weeks.

The big new idea in CrossWorlds is that you'll be hopping through dimensional portals mid-race to entirely different locations.

Fans are hopeful that SEGA characters and environments from outside the realm of Sonic will form part of the experience, as in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. This has yet to be explicitly confirmed.
