Capcom has been winning for quite some time now, announcing eight years of record financial results – and, of course, it’s been making some unforgettable games along the way.
Now the organisation plans to build a new base in Osaka, with the construction expected to be completed in 2027. That’s according to comments made by the company during a recent financial call, as reported by Gamebiz.jp.
The company already owns and operates multiple offices in Osaka, but this new building will allow it to expand by 100 employees per year, which will obviously enable it to significantly scale up its operations.
One thing it wants to strengthen is its excellent RE Engine, which already powers a number of internally developed games, like Monster Hunter and Resident Evil. The company is eager to improve on its proprietary codebase, and support it with the addition of new technology and features.
It’s a good time for Capcom, then, with Monster Hunter Wilds just getting started and Street Fighter 6 remaining king of the fighting genre. Expect a new Resident Evil in the coming years to help fuel its future growth, too.

I'm crossing my fingers this new studio get the chance to handle Capcom niche IP's like Breath of Fire, Clock Tower, God Hand, Strider, Haunting Ground, Darkstalkers etc and not just the support studio for RE, MH, SF, DMC, or the big IP's.
@PuppetMaster You had me at Breath of Fire.
@PuppetMaster I adore Haunting Grounds, but imagine releasing it now in the western market. The volume of reeeeeing would reach Osaka.
@PuppetMaster I would love a new Clock Tower.. sadly, that's not up to Capcom since they don't own the IP. Sunsoft does.
Gime me a maximo game Capcom word up son
@Dalamar I know. Back then Haunting Ground already got undeserved negative reviews from some western gaming media like Game Informer who gave 4/10 or EGM gave 6/10. But i think Capcom shouldn't listen or bend the knee to those people. I mean, what are they gonna do beside yapping on twitter or written whatever negative articles about Fiona is weak female protags yadda yadda yadda. Haunting Ground is a gem and deserved a second chance.
@YoureTooSlowBro Maybe i heard it wrong but wasn't Capcom also own the IP?
@PuppetMaster sadly Capcom is aiming primary for western market now, just look up Onimusha 2 remaster changes.
@PuppetMaster No, Capcom just made the third game. Sunsoft is the sole owner of the IP according to the USPTO. They purchased the IP when the original developers went out of business in the early 2000s.
Announce Ace Attorney 7 already, Capcom, pleeeease
I remember 10 years ago Capcom couldn't buy a win. They were being discussed in the same manner as Konami at that point. Resident Evil 7, and (perhaps more notably) Monster Hunter World, really changed their fortunes and it's been mostly hit after hit.
As a long time MH fan it pleases (and surprises) me no end that it's such a huge franchise now.
I wonder what the reason for change was? After producing several stinkers to turn it around like they have is amazing. There must have been a huge shift in internal quality assurance at some point.
Apart from a few missteps, Capcom has always made great games from the very beginning. They have always been a top tier developer.
Quality over quantity, please.
@PuppetMaster That would be cool as hell, would love some old school horror series to get new games.
It's very refreshing to hear to good news like this, instead of studios getting shut down and people being laid off.
@Dalamar I only saw the censored Oyu alternate costume. The other changes are QoL for gameplay and no more behind the scenes video, Onimusha 3 trailer, and the music video.
I think Capcom are still okay in my book when comes to censorship. I mean, did you see Elena, Mai, Cammy, Chun Li, and Juri classic costume in SF 6? They show a lot of cakes and melons complete with jiggles physics. So, big chances Haunting Ground will be okay if Capcom decided to remastered it.
@YoureTooSlowBro I see. I guess we'll have to wait Sunsoft when comes to Clock Tower remaster or a brand new game...
Lovely to see a gaming success story for a change, well done capcom keep it up!
Considering how much bank Capcom is making, having an additional studio location is a good move to help free up resources among long-running titles and new games. SF6 definitely felt like that for people (those that had an addict itch to buy costumes lol) on the lead up to MH Wilds releasing.
@PuppetMaster Yeah, we may be waiting awhile. The remaster of the first one was good, but i highly doubt they do the others.
I hope they will make their gold editions real again not some crappy piece of paper in the case but they have awsome games i have to give them that.
@Jey887 Its almost like a good game sells instead nickeland diming every aspect of the game.
