There’ll be no PS5 version of gacha game spin-off Persona 5: The Phantom X when it launches worldwide next month, on 26th June.

While many of the details had already leaked, we were awaiting official information from a livestream, which aired earlier today. However, despite reports last year that a console conversion is in the works, it won’t be ready in time for next month.

For those who don’t know, this is a new version of Persona 5, featuring fresh characters and content, developed by Perfect World with art input from P-Studio. It’s got the same gameplay structure as its forebear, blending high school studies with Phantom Thief action. The only difference is there’s a gacha system which powers the monetary aspect of the adventure.

The title will be available on PC and smartphones and you can pre-register your interest now. You’re going to have to wait for that console version, though – assuming it’s still in development, anyway.
