Warhorse Studios has today given its PS5 RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 a proper facelift in the form of update 1.3 and the game's first expansion, both available now. The patch, which weighs in at a mammoth 47.352GB, bundles all of the new content together, so you've just got to download that and then you're good to go.

The first DLC, titled Brushes with Death, is included with the Expansion Pass, or you can purchase it for £4.99 / $5.99. It will integrate into the base game and add new quests to both maps, and here's the story setup:

"Help a mysterious artist uncover his enigmatic past and unleash your creativity in shield painting. Henry encounters a quirky painter, who draws him into a web of intricate plans, pushing his skills to their limit in finding solutions." The team has two more DLC packs planned for the game, each set to release before the end of 2025.

During the expansion, you also gain access to a new feature called Shield Painting. This lets you "visually modify your shield, choosing from a variety of patterns and colours to reflect your personal style".

As for the contents of the free patch 1.3, you can try out Horse Racing, a new activity that will test "your skills in cross-country races and mounted archery competitions". There are new quests and Trophies related to the activity. The full list of patch notes can be read through the link — they're so long that we'd be here all day noting them down.

A landmark RPG for 2025, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 continues to expand with a better build of the overall game, and now with extra content via DLC. Will you return to the historical game and check out the expansion? Let us know in the comments below.
