Warhorse Studios has today given its PS5 RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 a proper facelift in the form of update 1.3 and the game's first expansion, both available now. The patch, which weighs in at a mammoth 47.352GB, bundles all of the new content together, so you've just got to download that and then you're good to go.
The first DLC, titled Brushes with Death, is included with the Expansion Pass, or you can purchase it for £4.99 / $5.99. It will integrate into the base game and add new quests to both maps, and here's the story setup:

"Help a mysterious artist uncover his enigmatic past and unleash your creativity in shield painting. Henry encounters a quirky painter, who draws him into a web of intricate plans, pushing his skills to their limit in finding solutions." The team has two more DLC packs planned for the game, each set to release before the end of 2025.
During the expansion, you also gain access to a new feature called Shield Painting. This lets you "visually modify your shield, choosing from a variety of patterns and colours to reflect your personal style".
As for the contents of the free patch 1.3, you can try out Horse Racing, a new activity that will test "your skills in cross-country races and mounted archery competitions". There are new quests and Trophies related to the activity. The full list of patch notes can be read through the link — they're so long that we'd be here all day noting them down.
A landmark RPG for 2025, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 continues to expand with a better build of the overall game, and now with extra content via DLC. Will you return to the historical game and check out the expansion? Let us know in the comments below.

KCD2 and Expedition 33 are the new kings of non JRPGs
The patch causes really bas flickering on PS5
Am I the only one that, whenever I see Henry, all I can then see is Newcastle United's current manager (and legend) Eddie Howe?
The trophies for Hardcore Mode finally pop now too, after being broken since that update's release. Looking forward to playing this again.
I am straight up dreading horseback archery. But trophies are trophies and my addiction is my addiction.
@Alps_Stranger The archery could never be as bad as it was in KCD1...
@N1ghtW1ng nope, not even close
10/10 game just got better and bigger.
I have yet to see the game in action with my new PS5 Pro.
I am playing Lost Tapes: Bloom and Rage at the moment, but I won't finish as the sub runs out tomorrow and then . . . it is finally back to my game of the year.
@Oram77 otherwise known as European games 😁
@EfYI it is quality on the Pro as you get the quality mode at a nicely unlocked frame rate, if your tv supports it. I tried it on both consoles and something felt off on base PS5 in direct comparison so I stuck to exclusively playing it on Pro
@Ravix I wasn't sure whether to play this one on my base PS5 or my PS5 Pro either. I wanted to love it on the base PS5 but ultimately I went with the Pro for the better framerate and resolution. ::shrug::
Multiple reports now saying this patch has broken the game on PS5 base and Pro with insane flickering. Great news, just as I was about to play.
@DonJorginho Damn, really? I refunded the game at release time because unplayable on my base PS5 due to the sound stuttering bug. It got fixed 2 months after and I was considering buying again the game to finally start it, and now I hear that the game is again broken by a new update and is still in an unplayable state? Seriously when this game is going to be stable?
@B0udoir cruel luck for both of us as apparently the game was in a really good state just before this new patch, even Xbox users are now complaining on the Twitter page of KCD saying how it’s a flicker fest and is so bad they have to stop playing due to sickness.
Hopefully it gets fixed asap.
@EfYI congrats on not having to finish that poor excuse for a “game” lol
@Logonogo
Haha! What don't you like about it? I found it to be a chill game, quite nice to look at with a slight horror vibe😅 Not to far in, though.
