Microids has confirmed it's bringing back the original point-and-click classic adventure game Syberia in a complete PS5 remaster, releasing at the end of 2025. It'll go by Syberia Remastered, but judging by the quality of the screenshots that accompany the announcement, this looks more like a full-on remake than anything else.
In a press release via Gematsu, it's revealed the remaster will include "a stunning visual overhaul, redesigned gameplay, and the same captivating storytelling that made it a classic". Using words like "faithful" and "stunning" the project plans to "carefully" rebuild all of the environments using "an art direction that stays true to Benoît Sokal’s unique style, offering an even deeper immersion into his singular visual universe".
Here are the screenshots to go with the announcement (click to enlarge):
The puzzles have been "redesigned to provide a smoother and more intuitive experience while preserving their essential role", and the UI and controls have also been updated to match today's standards.
If you haven't heard of the 2002 classic, here's a brief narrative setup: "Kate Walker, a brilliant lawyer from New York, is sent to a remote village in the French Alps to finalize the sale of an old automaton factory. But what begins as a routine assignment soon turns into an extraordinary journey across Eastern Europe and its snow-covered landscapes."

Day one for me. One of the most iconic adventure series.
I really enjoyed playing as Kate Walker in this game, back on the old Xbox. I never forgot Kate Walker because everyone was sure to say Kate Walker's name to Kate Walker.
I tried the last Syberia game while while my PS subscription is still active, and it’s beautiful. The puzzles are a little too easy. And the trophies are bugged to hell. 50/50 chance of actually popping. So I deleted it halfway through.
Enjoyed the first two games of the series, but the third one was so painfully dull I gave up after a few hours.
So excited for this, hopefully Part 2 follows close behind.
Never played a game from this series. Might have to change that when the next sale pops up. I do like a point and click.
Always loved the melancholic feel of the first one. Especially the last location.
Even though I am not a steam-punk fan. But here it was okay.
This is like 4th remaster of the game
Never stop porting this game until all of humanity has played it I guess
Awesome, loved the aesthetics and vibe of the first game
@Bamila No its not. It never had a single remaster. Its been ported to various platforms. That's it.This is the first remaster.
That's unexpected. Just kidding, it's the MO for Sony with the PS5.
Kate Walker Lara Crofts Lesser known Twin Sister.
@KidRisky Yep, the games can be fun if you like the genre, but they're really janky. If you care about trophies, avoid them like the plague. Years later, they still refuse to fix the bugged ones, yet keep churning broken ports on more consoles.
Those screenshots made my heart ache with nostalgia! I cannot wait to pick this up.
