It’s almost impossible to predict whether PS Plus Extra game FBC: Firebreak will have the juice to stand the test of time as a live service, but Remedy at least has some post-release plans up its Finnish sleeves.

The game – which is trying to reach as many players as possible through Sony’s aforementioned subscription – will get two major updates in Fall and Winter, adding new jobs, locations, enemies, and rewards.

PS Plus Extra Game FBC: Firebreak Will Continue to Grow Post-Release 2

If you’re not overly familiar with the way this game works, then a new trailer embedded above gives you the rundown on each mission type and the overall mechanics. One thing that struck us is how deeply customisable it all looks: you can set the length of each mission, the difficulty, and more.

One other thing worth mentioning is that the game will have a Deluxe Edition, with the following content included:

  • The Firestarter Premium Voice Pack
  • The Pencil Pusher Premium Voice Pack
  • Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves)
  • Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin
  • Golden Firebreak Spray
  • Classified Requisition: Firestarter: A collection of 36 unlockable cosmetic items including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets

If you’re not a PS Plus Extra member, you can buy this outright for $49.99 / £39.99. Or, alternatively, you can upgrade from the standard version for $10.00 / £7.00.

There’s so much competition in this space, we’re not overly convinced it’s going to have the staying power to stick around. But it doesn’t look like your average co-op escapade, and that at least will help it to stand out.
