What is the world coming to when people go on strike for having to work for more than 2 days a week(pretty funny that Pushsquare left out that detail but it is expected that they would try to make anything and everything that mentions Microsoft negative). The sad part is some really insanely lazy people will actually support the devs in this situation.
@nessisonett That is complete bs. I administer over a thousand end users in my division and over 90% of the ones who work from home get locked out by our GPO due to weeks of inactivity.
Why would you pay that much for an even uglier version of the PS5 Pro? Just buy a regular one. If this were a PS2 inspired black console I could see demand being higher and a premium price being less ridiculous but the 90's PC grey the PS1 used is visually repulsive.
All I've wanted from PlayStation for the last 15 years is a massive epic open world RPG. But it seems like that will never happen, they prefer watered down cinematic focused "games" made for children. I get it, their audience is primarily 12 year olds and the industry as a whole is shifting towards live service and hyper generic action games but I was just hoping for at least one game from PS this gen that wasn't the same old thing.
@get2sammyb I think that people who whine about the price of video games and their consoles are just whiners in general who will moan about anything and everything because it ticks some sort of endorphin box in their brain.
It really doesn't make any sense objectively, consoles and games are much cheap compared to those of yesteryear. GTA V launched at $60 which adjusted for inflation is almost $85. At launch, the highest tier Xbox 360 was $400 and the PS3 was $600 which, adjusted, are around $550 and $800 now. The PS5/PS5Pro and the XSX/S are all much more feature-rich, much more powerful, and have much more storage than the 360 and PS3 but cost less.
And of course, $700 is not a lot of money at all. If anyone thinks that, I would suggest a career change. I'd pay 2-3 times what the PS5 pro costs for a console if it could genuinely show off something impressive. And therein lies the ultimate problem with the PS5 Pro, it's not doing anything of note. There should have been at least an in development PS5 exclusive they could have shown off comparing the two versions, showing what could be accomplished with the PS5 Pro vs the PS5. But the console is seemingly just improved framerate and a tick higher resolution, basically the Xbox Series X vs Series S. In a few years will people be whining about the PS5 holding the PS5 Pro back?
@colonelkilgore I'm confused by your "logic". On average, gamers only spend about $120 a year on games. Gamepass generates more than that per user, so Microsoft is making more money from Gamepass than selling from a traditional model.
@BloodNinja The point is you said something false so I corrected you.
"Every big game ever has been delayed before covid existed, just want to point that out. I’ve never heard of a huge AAA game being released on time in the last 10-15 years." This is a lie and I informed you of several games that were not delayed over the last 10-15 years. What exactly are you trying to spin this into? Your previous comment directly contradicts your newest one. "kids" I can guarantee I'm at least twice your age.
@BloodNinja Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, DOOM 2016, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and many more AAA games released in the last decade did not receive a delay.
I imagine this is more likely tv show related than gaming. If PlayStation games are on Netflix, it defeats the entire mantra of Sony's profit plans. If everyone on PC and Xbox can just stream PlayStation games through Netflix why would anyone buy a PS5 or buy into the PlayStation ecosystem? This idea would set up the Series X as the console with everything to offer and the PS5 as the console with nothing to offer.
@mucc
The article you linked is only thirteen sentences long, you probably should have read it. It comes from Tom Warren, who says that in it's first year gamepass has not made Microsoft a profit when weighed against the $10 billion they spent over the last 4 years in acquisitions and infrastructure spending. If your response to that isn't "no ***** sherlock" you are likely out-of-touch with the subject.
Everyone and anyone should realize why gamepass is a long term cashcow, it's very basic math. It'll have wholly paid for Zenimax by the end of 2022 and is already bringing in more money than Netflix makes every year. If, in ten years, their firestick-esque device and gamepass streaming have panned out and they quadruple+ the amount of subs they currently have, gamepass alone will be making enough money to purchase a ZeniMax sized studio every year and not go negative on profit. That's a big "if" though and we'll have to see if that is what the future holds. At worst they'll be making a ton of money and at best they'll be making an insane amount of money.

"Ubisoft management has mandated all staff return to the office for three days a week, which STJV says is ridiculous"
Sounds like the devs are a bunch of spoiled little brats. No wonder nothing is getting done at the company, no one is doing any actual work.

@Frmknst The Wolfenstein games are leaps and bounds better than The Uncharted games, hell the Uncharted are barely even games by comparison.
