Ah, Chrono Odyssey. This was a game that came close to blowing minds back when it was first revealed in 2023 — and now it's finally returned.

To be fair, the title did reappear last year with a short trailer that screamed "this game still exists, we promise" — but we've seen next to nothing of the project since.

This new video's even shorter than the last, but it coincides with the announcement of a closed beta test, which is set for June. Unfortunately, said playtest is going to be on PC only — but at least it proves that Chrono Odyssey isn't just some kind of overly ambitious fever dream that'll never escape development hell.

"This first public playtest milestone marks the next step toward the game’s full launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, promising a groundbreaking MMORPG experience powered by cutting-edge technology," reads the official press release.

It'll be worth looking out for gameplay footage once this beta drops, as we'll finally get to see the title in action. It's promising in-depth combat that uses time-based mechanics, spread across a huge open world setting.
