The Internet will try and tell you Sony is only interested in big-budget single player titles and live-service efforts, but dig a little deeper and you'll find the company closely working with indie teams to make their games a reality. The China Hero Project and India Hero Project are two of those initiatives, and the latter just showcased a new game in its lineup.
Mukti, from underDOGS studio, is being produced under the India Hero Project guidance from PlayStation. A project made from "years of sweat, love, and relentless passion", it's about heritage, discovery, and redemption, set within an Indian museum. The PS Store wishlist page shares the game will confront the social issue of human trafficking.

In a PlayStation Blog post, founder and game director Vaibhav Chavan said he's proud to be part of the India Hero Project, as it reaffirmed the studio's belief that Indian stories deserve to be heard by everyone. "After over a year of working closely with the fantastic folks at Sony, the journey has been nothing short of insightful and full of learning."
Mukti will utilise a 4K resolution and support all the features of the PS5 DualSense controller. Here's the narrative setup from Chavan: "Following her grandfather’s mysterious disappearance amid accusations of heinous crimes, Arya returns to find the museum she owned vandalized and abandoned. Through the silent echoes of the past, she pieces together a narrative of heritage, compassion and obscured truths, questioning everything she knew about his existence. What truths lie in her grandfather’s museum?"
If you like the look of Mukti, then the team asks you to wishlist the game on the PS Store. "As an indie studio from India, every wishlist counts. It tells the world, especially platforms and publishers, that there’s a growing hunger for Indian stories told through high-quality, console-level games. It pushes boundaries and opens doors, not just for Mukti, but for a whole generation of Indian developers."

So it's like Indiana Jones but ordered from Temu (don't mean that in a bad way), but it looks cool, will keep an eye on it, love me a good AA game.
Edit: The Hero project is seems to be paying off so far. Can someone confirm if Phantom Blade 0 is from the Chinese Hero project?
I’m really rooting for the India Hero Project. I’ll be keeping a close eye on this one. Here’s to a successful launch and a promising future for game development in India!
This ain't it chief. I couldn't even watch the whole video. When it comes to AA or "Hero Project" give me more Stellar Blade or even FIST which was a really good metroidvania. I don't care about glorified walking sims unless it really surprises with the reception at release.
Game does not have enough shooty shooty or stabby stabby for the usual Push Square crowd. I, personally, am quite interested in this.
I’m intrigued as I like this kind of thing. Hopefully it comes together!
Set in a museum with human trafficking as an overarching theme. Sounds unique and worthy of a cautious wishlist add.
@Oram77 I don't believe so. Phantom Blade 0 isn't on Sony's China Hero Project website
@Scottyy There's a optional mode just for Stellar Blade fans where the game is third person and every time the character takes a step, her ass cheeks jiggle and clap together.
@themightyant i don't think it is part of the program , but i think sony did help fund it , increasing it after the success of wukong its nice to see sony investing into studios like them and the studio above so they can create the games they always wanted to.
I thought it's a horror game like Amnesia or Outlast but it's more inline with Everybody's Gone to the Rapture?
It's not my cup of tea but i wish good luck to the devs 🍻
Color me interested.
@twitchtvpat I definitely agree Sony helped develop it, but that wasn’t the original question. Not every Chinese game they help fund is part of the China Hero Project
Feels like ages since I last played a proper walking sim, looks pretty good.
@TruestoryYep
So funny to see comments like this everytime SB mentioned. It's a good game, period. I also wrote FIST as another example from these "Hero Projects" but guess that didn't suit your shallow snark.
@ChrisDeku
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is one of my favorite games of all time and that's coming from an action game junkie, some people just hate anything different that comes out and then unironically b--ch and moan in the same breath endlessly about how we don't get enough originality.
Uh nope
Nothing worse than 1st person and especially free floating items
There are 3 good games in the genre
Firewatch, Edith Finch, Still Wakes the Deep
Love the setup. Will wishlist.
