@Intr1n5ic Yep same here as yourself. What I don't understand is that I didn't even click on anything related to the pre order, I was sat on the page and it automatically refreshed and popped me into the waiting room. As always it's a bit of a mess. The only ray of hope we have is that people already with a spot in the queue baulk at the price when they get there and leave, but, most of the queue is probably bots anyway.
@Intr1n5ic
Queue is paused for me personally. I was in there at 6am and the queue wasn't there at all, all of a sudden the page popped up and it was paused, unsure how people got there before me but there you go.
@MrPeanutbutterz
Reading the exchanges between yourself and @Weebleman I think this just highlights our different tastes and what 'pings' with us in a game and what does not.
Like you I found Days Gone very slow and I was very 'meh' about it all. I can't remember at what point it happened, but something triggered and I started to enjoy it. The characters grew and the story with them, and when I finished it I was pretty gutted it was all over.
On the flips side, I didn't like Witcher 3, unlike yourself. I did love HZD though, still not 100% completed it but not far off.
To summarize, we're all different and that's OK, we like what we like, and dislike what we don't.
To those still confused and / or annoyed why this remaster is happening, it is surely testing the water for a sequel. You do not have to buy it, like with all games it is your choice, nobody is forcing you to engage.
@KeldorTheCursed I think you're spot on, this is definitely testing the waters for a possible sequel. Also loved Days Gone and personally don't understand the negative reception it received.
@NinjaNicky I'm guessing the black Friday deals where you could get the phat console with COD for mega cheap (cheaper than the console on its own) accounts for a lot of the sales figures. But yes it's sad that a stinker of a game sells because of it's name and takes the number 1 spot, that unfortunately will tell Activision that they can churn out the same rubbish every year and still rake in the cash.
@Intr1n5ic Agree with you there were/are some incredibly good deals on the disc version, I am extremely limited on space this time round hence I've gone for the smallest option I could 👍
It's not really strange timing I don't think, the digital phat has been out of stock for a little while now so obviously Sony weren't going to keep manufacturing them, the phat disc version seems plentiful and I haven't yet seen the disc slim on sale so seems logical I guess.
Anyway managed to get a digital slim from Very with a 10% code I had so happy days.
The above photo doesn't match some teardown videos on YouTube though.
Above photo looks like they are almost identical in height yet videos clearly show that the new model is quite a bit lower.
Edit I'm referring to when placed vertical, so height I guess means width.
Edit 2 The above photo also shows that the 'Slim' is closer to the camera making it look bigger.
I think you need to do your homework a bit better before an article like this tbh.
Really surprised at how shortsighted most of you are.
It's not a cash grab or anything like that.
GPU and CPU hardware has INCREASED in price over the last few years, the fact Sony are able to package it smaller is simply because chips although higher in cost are smaller in nm and will run cooler and draw less power hence the smaller package.
Did you want them to keep the same huge footprint and ignore the space saving advantages the cooler chips can afford?
Jeez.
@lindos the PS4 slim was way better looking than the OG, do you have a source for your claims that nobody swapped any of their consoles for slim versions as you claim?
@__jamiie All of PlayStation consoles over the years including the PS5 have been fine without tbh so I'll be doing the same with the slim. It's hidden behind the TV anyway so looks don't matter.
As the article states the new stand fits the current PS5 so the current stand will fit the 'slim', a few quid from various sources then. I've not used a stand with my OG PS4, slim, pro, or indeed the current PS5 and have never had an issue. Much ado about nothing really, if you buy one it's for aesthetics mainly and only you can decide how important that is to you.
Looks interesting but the handling/physics weren't great on the first two games in the series, hopefully this has been addressed. I'd love a new Motorstorm instead tbh.
@Porco Do you have a source to back up your claim of their profit margins on hardware? If so I'd genuinely be interested in having a mooch around. Re other manufacturers not following suit, that's not a given, but as a previous poster said MS have deeper pockets and can take the hit where as Sony may not.
@theMEGAniggle "I wouldn't call it greed, they need to recoup costs and simply are not protecting the consumer by recouping it this way. MS have bags more money, they do not need to raise their prices. Sony really really can not keep up." And this in a nutshell, is it.
I'm absolutely amazed at some of the negative comments here citing Sony are simply greedy. Component costs have risen, production costs have risen, shipping costs have risen, every single part of the process from manufacture to getting a console to your door has risen, every console sold has paper thin margins as it is if any at all. All console manufacturers make profit on their software not the console itself, this has been the case for decades.
@Dudditz09 Fools comment aside, if someone has already subscribed pointing out they don't need to subscribe is not really a valid argument, as they have an active subscription which can't be refunded if they don't like the content they have already paid for up front.
Lifleline main here (lvl 500) so very much looking forward to her long overdue buff. The increased D.O.C healing range shouldn't be an issue around other squads getting the benefit, it's all about when and where to place it. The ultimate needs a complete revamp though i.e. totally get rid of the drop and replace it with a self D.O.C revive for example, she is a combat medic after all...
At this time it's just not hitting the sweet spot for me so voted ok. It's the retro side that I'm most interested in but the games currently offered for me personally, are weak. I want the games that made me fall in love when the PS1 was in its infancy; Wipeout (and 2097), Ridge Racer, Rollcage, Tenchu, Destruction Derby, MGS, etc. And the fact that PS3 are still stream only (which had unplayable input lag on PS Now) is quite frustrating. I'll hold off for now and see what the future holds.
Does this have the same dreadful MP like Dirt 5? i.e. no lobby browser, barely any choice as to where or what you race, and matchmaking that gives you mostly empty results with just a few players to compete against?
I find the suggestion of Game Pass on a Sony console quite ridiculous, how the acquisition of Activision has prompted the internet to explode with this theory is bizarre.
Microsoft may think they have pulled a blinder with this acquisition, and for Xbox owners I guess they have. But for people like me as a PS fan and general PC gamer recently on the fence on a Xbox purchase, their/his attitude/hypocrisy on this has completely turned me away. I'm sure MS are expecting millions of new subscribers to GP but I wonder if they have considered their/his attitude will do the opposite.
@XOF Resistance and Killzone remasters and/or new games I'd buy in a heartbeat, but it's not going to happen, they've had ample opportunity throughout the PS4's lifecycle but haven't taken it. And what about Motorstorm, another golden and somewhat unique franchise ignored. If Sony crumble because of this they have no one but themselves to blame.

Just got in. PS5 Pro bundle is all sold out.
Got myself a 30th slim instead, and a Dualsense Edge which is what I wanted more than anything tbh.

It's not available on amazon because it hasn't been released yet, pre order for everything from 10am.

They are just banking on the fact they will get one to sell, if they don't they'll simply remove the listing.

Sleek? It's ugly as sin, and at that price, not for me.

Re: Many, Many More Xbox Ports Plotted for PS5, New Speculation Suggests

Yep I know, as above just a thought that crossed my mind.
I do wonder now if GP will actually come to PS5, a year ago it seemed unimaginable but now, anything seems possible.
Re: Many, Many More Xbox Ports Plotted for PS5, New Speculation Suggests
@PsBoxSwitchOwner
No point buying either when I have a PS5 and big games are apparently on their way.
I was just pondering the thought really.
Re: Many, Many More Xbox Ports Plotted for PS5, New Speculation Suggests
So if one has a Gamepass sub, is there any way of playing Gamepass games which release on PS5 using that sub?
I'm guessing regardless if you have Gamepass or not you have to pay?
Re: Fallout 4 Next Gen Version Is Out Now on PS5, Xbox, and PC
PS Store is definitely confused.
Clicking the Fallout tab in the store presented me with already purchased and a download option (premium).
Did a manual search for Fallout 4 and could see a PS4 with free upgrade to PS5 version which I had to purchase again for £0.00.
Then presented with the choice of either download the PS4 or PS5 version.
I'm sure though, that I never actually purchased it and got it via PS Plus.
Or maybe I did purchase it years ago and the Store initially thought it was the Plus version.
Odd.

Sounds like the release date is spot on as MW3 releases on the 10th, as my OG PS5 has peed its pants I'll be dipping into the slim.

Ok.
