Why a price hike? You’ll find your answers in a basic economics textbook. Hint: Sony is a business with the primary function of making money.

Sure some people may cancel but Sony’s view is it’ll be a net positive for them and their stock did increase I believe after the news.

You called the 98% figure misleading in two articles without understanding that it was referring to the 98% high-end console market—a term Sony used in its argument against the Microsoft acquisition. This is about Sony vs. Microsoft given this drawing of the line, so don’t bring up PC or Nintendo, please.

@ATaco strange i actually found the stealth gameplay with the ghosts in DS1 to be one of weakest parts. I want my sweeping vistas, music, and weird Kojima crap!

Outside of this website, game awards has become my annual check-in with the industry and I generally enjoy the show and its mix of awards and trailers. 2.5 hours sounds good to me!

Surprised by the negative comments, I loved the fast pacing of the show. Didn’t get stuck too long in games I wasn’t interested in and got to see tons of games I never heard of

At least the trailer is pushing a more cinematic narrative than usual and emphasizing characters somewhat. Hopefully they’ll have more depth than what’s showcased here but honestly I doubt it.

Cool, I usually buy at launch but haven’t been able to get one. Not that any games on there are motivating me to try all that hard right now.

Whenever I get a half decent multiplayer game to try with friends, I am happy

I love the site’s reviews of the smaller games, even the mini reciews, especially when I’m combing through the latest PSN sale and haven’t heard of half the games listed.

Thought my non-gamer gf would enjoy playing this co-op but I showed her video review and saw her eyes glaze over. Maybe gaming together just isn’t in the cards for us...

@Juvenlast part of the problem is that Sony increases demand by selling these consoles at a loss, so scalpers can come in and capture the difference between market price and Sony’s price. I’m not advocating for higher prices, but it would alleviate scalping issue and people getting as frustrated over shortages.

Maybe it’s an issue with a new component bc I have a less than a year old PS4 dualshock and it has started drifting in one game only. I did the reset button and that worked (on third attempt)

Sony rejected my psn refund request just now bc I have already downloaded the game...told me to wait for the patch

As someone who plays mostly multiplayer games, I wish I could vote none here. Who needs to buy games when the best ones are free??

@zupertramp I’m assuming that new UI will have wishlist or similar feature, but yes sounds like we’ll have to recreate our wishlist which is silly.

Why don’t publishers have full price control? Themed sales are nice and all but I’m fine just tracking my wishlist once a week rather than poring through lists of the same games on sale every week.

Doesn’t seem so bad to me, why would buying one game entitle you to a remaster, especially if you can still play the game you originally bought on new consoles?
