Pretty excited for this. I was always hoping for an open world Gran Turismo game. The last proper open world racer I played was burnout paradise and nfs unbound to a less degree.

If they are focusing on software but still want to make a powerful console, it needs to be profitable from day one. Which means they wont compete with the ps6 which will sell at a loss or break even on launch. Sounds like a very expensive irrelevant piece of gear only diehard fans will buy.

I hope they do something more substantial to fix EAFC after realising that people will stop spending money on it if the game continues to become more and more a gambling machine than a football game.

I feel like the approach of using single player IPs as basis for a live service game is flawed from the concept stage. I think there is not a lot of overlap between people who enjoy single player adventure games and people who play something like cod/eafc all day.

I think it’s meant to be from 22 November given thats when most BF sales start.

Letting your kids (especially around pre-teen and below) play online games interacting with strangers is just outrageous to me. I for one think these social media restrictions are actually a very good idea, and I usually dont even vote labor.
One big concern is the slippery nature of the internet and how new platforms are popping up all the time. How can they possibly control for all that?

@Rog-X I think you are forgetting that PS Plus over the years across essential and extra have/had very high quality stuff on their list - new ratchet and clank, HFW, FFVII remake, demons souls, spiderman, ghost of tsushima, DQ11, deathloop, GOW, uncharted, persona, etc etc

But these days we just dont see anywhere near as heavy hitting games coming onto Plus any more, TLOU being an exception as a remake. And I put that down to Xbox all but waving the white flag in the current gen console war with Sony.

The gamepass model proved itself to be a failure so far, and so it appears Sony no longer feels pressured to go toe to toe with them.

They took away HFW for these??

Totally agree. For me the silent hero actually takes away from the immersion when its his turn to say something and all he does is nod his head.

I mean the bar is really low atm in terms of gameplay. Even if it doesnt have the most advanced graphics, if the gameplay is actually decent I am more than prepared to sink hundreds of hours into a football game.

I bet you the value of PS Plus will continue declining now that xbox has kind of given up competing with PS.

I guess FC24 is decent for some casual session with friends. Staying away from UT until EA makes changes to their predatory behaviour. Governments really need to get with the times and put a hard stop to these gambling mechanics. Otherwise they will have a sharp increase in actual gambling addicts in a few years to come.

Looks like the game is finally coming out of beta almost a year after release.

I believe FF series is losing its identity with the whole transition into real time action adventure style.

@MFTWrecks It seems it’s either a totally separate unexperienced team is developing D4, or they have purposely rolled back the QoL features to add later because they don’t have enough actual content to introduce each season. Worse yet, both.

I didnt know Ubisoft were capable of making even a single A quality game.
I automatically associate Ubisoft with convoluted garbage. Big scale, poor quality.

So on one hand they are saying they are consolidating ‘overlap’ in the business and then also saying Activision was going to let people go anyway. 🤨

And having to store up all the different aspects to future proof yourself?
The basics of item mechanics are totally boring for a game that relies on grinding for loot.

That is probably a summary of the whole situation with Diablo 4. There is just absolutely no sign of the meticulous and thoughtful personality that made Blizzard so successful in the past. Just a bunch of amateurs meddling with an old recipe.

Bluey the show is awesome but the video game looks like its one of those okayish freebies through ps plus.

So it seems they purposefully left the base game unfinished so they could charge more for expansions that add some actual endgame content which should have been present from day 1.

Looks like Phil has opened a can of worms. You cant have one set of standards for ‘great’ games and another set for ‘not so great’.

I mean, if they werent going to have end game bosses, at least they should have made all realistically obtainable uniques actually worth pursuing.

This game definitely stimulates the same mechanism in the brain as gambling. You often start out just to have a bit of fun building your own team and playing against people online, but very quickly get sucked into grinding packs and chasing rare promo cards.

Too bad I already stopped playing and I’m pretty much over it.

You know something is seriously wrong when you have a loot based game but people would rather use randomly generated gear than the unique items. There is just no clear endgame direction. I think that is D4’s biggest problem.

… Or he’s way too clever for the system and knows exactly what to say and how to behave to get the necessary tick boxes.
Just think about the amount of attention to detail and brain power that goes into committing these cyber crimes.

So if you have an ipad for remote play and airpods for wireless audio, you really dont need any of these then?

I am sure there will be some form of an updated ps5 in the near future as there always has been in each console generation. But I am not really convinced that we need a ‘Pro’ model, unless they are aiming for something like locked 120fps mode on full 4k with ray tracing. But games like HFW on 60fps already seem amazing enough, so is a more powerful ps5 really necessary?

I started HFW just last week and thought I will just focus on the main quests but I am enjoying the game too much and find myself going after all the side quests and strike games etc lol

I sometimes use remote play on the ipad with the dualsense connected by bluetooth. The only advantage of a dedicated device would be if the connection was smoother. Otherwise I cant imagine trying to play on any screen less than 10inches.

Remaking the earlier titles in the series would be ‘actual work’ as opposed to what they will try and get away with here. I smell a bit of facelift and fast cash.

It would be very interesting to see how many minors they have got hooked on the whole gambling system. I have finally quit the game after spending hours and hours of grinding and feeling worse after each game session.

Imagine if MS turns around and announce they are shutting down Call Of Duty, then the next day they have a new game called Fall of Duty exclusive to MS gamepass.

I never played OW1 but I find it pretty fun. Haven’t spent a cent on it. I get a slight bit of nostalgic WoW pvp vibe without the commitment.
