Oblivion Remastered Updates

It's now been a full month since the shadow drop release of Oblivion Remastered, and players are still waiting on some much needed improvements.

For the record, we've enjoyed playing through Oblivion again and allowing the sheer nostalgic overload to carry our interest — but there's absolutely no question that the game launched in a subpar state.

Between some pretty inexcusable performance issues and the failure to fix many of the original title's most prominent bugs — while also somehow introducing bugs that are brand new to the remaster — you don't have to look far to find disgruntled buyers online.

Last month, on the 29th April, we reported on Bethesda and developer Virtuos' plans to update Oblivion Remastered. The teams were busy gathering feedback from players, which would then be used to fuel incoming patches.

However, next to nothing has been said on the subject since, and again, we're now four whole weeks away from the initial release. For a title that has such abundantly clear issues, it's not a good look.

Of course, it's possible that the developer's simply taking its time to ensure the promised update covers as many improvements as it can — but players still shouldn't be waiting this long for, say, frame rate enhancements, or a fix for the supposed memory leaks that are currently occurring in the game.
