Re: The Last of Us Is One of Sony's More Popular PC Ports Despite the Flaws

veryhoudini11

@Americansamurai1 doesn't really matter how much iron galaxy was involved. It doesn't make sony or naughty dog less responsible or accountable for this messy port. This is their baby and they should of taken care of it. End of the day, ND and Sony were ultimately in control of Quality Assurance and what was being released and they clearly dropped the ball.

Re: The Last of Us' Naughty Dog Already Working on Next PS5 Exclusive

veryhoudini11

@GamerStation257 yeah. Mechanically and technologically the game is a marvel. They worked the hell out of that team. But its always the story thats divisive with people. I personally like the revenge story more than any of their other games. But i also don't think anyone can say it's objectively a poorly written story.

Re: Sony Wants You to Sit Up Straight While You're Playing PS5, PS4

veryhoudini11

@NEStalgia Right. Game design on PS1 was basicslly forced to keep the dpad as the primary controls for movement due to having two different controllers on the console. They should have introduced DS2 with asymmetrical. By that time game design had shifted to favoring movement with the left analog stick. Now I assume they keep it symmetrical for branding reasons more than anything else.

They could atleast release a variant of the official controllers with asymmetrical analog sticks and let the sales numbers do the talking on what players prefer.

Re: Did You Know There's An Easy Way to Turn Off Your PS4 Controller?

veryhoudini11

@Cutmastavictory @BearsEatBeets @MattyHammo if you accidentally turn on the controller with the system unplugged or not around its handy for sure. I often repair my dualshocks and this trick I utilize when having to open my controller up, before unplugging the battery. Also when paired to the ps3 you can still use this trick and it's very helpful. Still in normal scenerios, I just use the quick menu to turn off devices, or just let the system turn off the controller when I power down or go into rest mode.

Re: Just Cause Dev Avalanche Studios Reveals New Branding, Teases New Game

veryhoudini11

@Flaming_Kaiser yeah I totally agree. There are plenty of open world games I love because they are so deep and have a lot offer. Hzd, Witcher 3 are a few obvious ones that come to mind. Rage 2 I could play and have fun but wouldn't stay engaged for long and would just put the game down. It's not often that I want to play an open world non stop like some of the greats. Ubusoft open worlds usually bore me or make me feel like I'm doing the same thing over and over. I'm sick of climbing shit just to reveal more of the map.

Re: Sounds Like DOOM Eternal Had a Hell of an Opening Weekend

veryhoudini11

@ankehuber yeah I can't agree with that. I'm having a blast with it. I'm almost done with the campaign and still see myself playing better and figuring out new ways to use the mechanics. I'm playing on nightmare BTW, not sure if that matter, but I tried their normal difficulty and found it unchallenging and not very fun.

Re: PS Plus April 2020 PS4 Games Leaked Ahead of Official Announcement

veryhoudini11

@vhsodre no i believe it's the best selling game on the console period, not taking into account copies sold on other consoles. It's hard to say cause I'm basing that off a wiki page. But just looking at red dead, as of February of this year, they sold 29 million copies across Xbox, pc and ps4. So unless 19+ million of those copies were on ps4, it's not red dead. The only game I could think that sold more that 19 million of just ps4 copies would be gta5 but so many people already purchased the older console versions and didn't double dip on the ps4 version.

Re: Mini Review: DOOM 64 - After More Than 20 Years, DOOM's Oft-Forgotten Third Instalment Packs a Punch

veryhoudini11

@Powerpellet I'm loving Eternal. Been a doom fan since I was playing the originals on a ms-dos computer as a kid. I think they stayed true to the identity of Doom with the reboots. Just fun, arcadey fun shotgun blasting demon's at a fast pace while strafing nonstop. To me the reboots are closer to a true doom game than doom 3. Although that's not to say I don't love doom 3, which I do.

Re: PS5 SSD Represents 'Biggest Leap in My Career', Says The Last of Us 2 Co-Game Director

veryhoudini11

@TurboTom loading is the big thing for sure, not just loading screens, but loading assets as you travel in a open world game, so less pop ins and more things can be loaded in field of view quicker. Even in non open world games this is a benefit. Along with that, the ssd allows for more effecient use of the RAM. Since the ssd has no seek time and can be used to load things instantly, the games won't need to use RAM as much to load things that the game may or may not need, depending on players action.

Re: The Last of Us to Be Adapted into HBO TV Series

veryhoudini11

@kenyowa I'm pretty confident in it. It really has all the recipes for being good. HBO is second to none when it comes to television shows and they were the trailblazers of great TV going as far back as the 90s. Plus with Neil druckman on board and involved gives me alot of faith that'll be handled correctly.
